Neo-CD Last Blade 2 (Y6800)
SNK has confirmed that Last Blade 2 for the Neo Geo CD will ship on February 25. The CD version includes a number of bonuses such as a character demo viewer, a voice demo, a quiz game filled with Last Blade questions and in-game specials such as a new weapon that you can wield named "Kiwame" and the ability to play as the middle boss Musashi.
Pre-order either the Japanese or American version of Neo-Geo CD Last Blade 2 by simply e-mailing NCS with your name, address, telephone number and a brief message.
New import magazines
New issues of Dengeki Dreamcast, Gamest and Famitsu are now available for shipping.
SNK & Playstation
SNK's Athena - Awakening from the Ordinary Life and King of Fighters 98 were both announced overnight for the Playstation. Athena is a psychic adventure that spans 3 CDs and is played in a 3-D interactive mode. The game engine also allows for action sequences where you fight with enemy characters in the game. This wil be SNK's first original game for the  Playstation with no Neo-Geo incarnation expected. KoF'98 needs no introduction but the PS version will include a survival mode, a practice mode, and a KOF art gallery. Pre-orders are welcome.

Playstation March 1999 import schedule
Due to some date changes and price revisions, NCS will post the complete Playstation import schedule for March tomorrow morning. A number of new games were also added to the listing overnight and NCS will incorporate those into the overall listing. Pochi Comes Home was announced last night where you raise a puppy in a Tamgotchi style interaction. A novelty in this game is that you can marry your puppy to a friend's puppy via the Pocket Station.
Everything Else
Yen Equilibrium
The dollar continues to firm in the forex with the overnight session pushing the dollar to Y113.90. The trading band appears to want to stay within the Y110 to Y115 range until fundamentals or market coordination policies change. This trading band will have little to no effect on prices. The levels have sunk in and prices have been set in trading markets.
Postal Rates Increase
Priority Mail packages weighing up to 2 lbs and insured for US$100 now cost $5 to ship as opposed to $4.60 before the increase. Express Mail packages up to 1/2 lb now cost $11.75 versus $10.75. Please make a note of these rate hikes since these service levels are the most requested  when we use the postal service to ship.
Dreamcast Clothing
We received our first shipment of the Dreamcast t-shirts and baseball caps on Monday. Pre-orders have shipped but a new shipment is expected next week. The cap and shirt are available in either black or white though we lean towards the white shirt and black cap. Unfortunately we can't mix and match as the ensemble comes packed in a mini-pizza box. New pre-orders are welcome at US$25.
Keychains
Our shipment of Pokemon keychains arrived this morning. Four Pokeball/Pokemon are available including Pikachu, Koratta, and two new ones that we don't know the names of. The first unknown is a roundish, pink monster with mini-horns and a smile. It looks like a ball of cotton candy or perhaps a cream puff. We think it's name is Charmboy or Charmin...or something like that. It's been a while since the last Pokemon session. The second unknown is a blue disc-shaped monster that has a swirl in front. He looks like the poster boy for the Dreamcast. A pair of arms extend from it's body and two flat feet protrude from it's lower region. Let's call him DC for now. A gallery of the four morphing monsters may be viewed here. An additional Pikachu keychain from Tomy also arrived today that doesn't morph. It's a standard keychain that's a faithful reproduction of the world famous beast. All five keychains are in stock today at US$5.00 and pre-orders will ship this morning. New orders are welcome.
Capital Markets
This week has turned out much more turbulent than expected. We remain neutral with no positions in anything since last Friday. The bias is towards the sell side today although there are pockets of strength. The only play that we may consider entering next Monday is heavy call positions in the oil service index. Everything else looks bloated and primed for the kill. Since EK is getting slaughtered today, we may initiate calls on that as well since it is due for a technical bounce if it drops further.
