& Dragons Collection |
|
Distribution houses have confirmed availability of Capcom's long awaited D&D
Collection for the Sega Saturn on March 04, 1999. This 2 CD-Rom compilation will
include the arcade platformers D&D: Tower of Doom and D&D Shadow over Mystara.
Both games feature side scrolling action-adventuring where you battle enemy henchmen, end
level bosses and use magic against your foes. An added dimension to the hack 'n slash is
the ability to gain experience points and level-up your character into a stronger, more
powerful fighter, cleric or magic user. Two packages will be available: A regular edition
without the required 4MB ram cartridge (Y6800) and a special boxed edition with the 4MB
ram (Y8800). |
| Pre-order

Animation Figures |
|
Bandai has announced two new trading figure collections for delivery in late March. The
first set includes 10 different Rurou ni Kenshin figures and the second
set features 10 different Galaxy Fraulein Yuna figures.
Each figure in either set measures 10cm (4 inches) in height and is packed in a cardboard
backed blister pack. NCS expects retail for each figure to price in the US$11
to US$13 range. A complete set will likely be offered in the US$100
area. If we are able to supply a clear photo of the figures, we will update this space
with the appropriate link. Reservations are welcome. |

| DC
Evolution on the way |
| Evolution for the Dreamcast is expected tomorrow at US$65.
NCS has put together a little preview
of the game to try and goad buyers into placing their orders today. As a reminder, Sega
Rally 2 is on schedule for next week (January 28). NCS doubts that Sega would
delay the game a second time but in this business, perhaps we should never say never. |

Equilibrium |
| No gain in the dollar/yen rate but no deterioration either. Y114 to
the US$1 appears to be equilibrium for the short term, until the next currency shock hits
the market. The market will take it's cues from what happens in Latin America over the
next couple of weeks. Prices from exporters remain stable. |

Markets |
|
We got knocked out of our short S&P futures position this morning when our
stop-loss order was triggered as the S&P futures ran up +6. Our bias remains to short
the market since it is bloated on liquidity. The fall may come as early as this afternoon
as sellers swamp in. |

| On-line
commerce |
| Our web-site shopping system should be up and running by the end of the
month. We were able to balance the trade-off between aesthetics and functionality so that
the transactions will be seamless with the rest of the site. New products that are listed
on our daily updates as well as products in the general console listings may be ordered by
clicking on a "Buy" icon. This should speed up the ordering process. We will
require that customers register themselves with our site so that you will be assigned a
user identification for placing orders with your pre-set information and billing
preferences. More details next week. |

| Magazine
packing |
| All new import magazines shipped from NCS are packed in a polypropylene bag
and a backing board to maintain their mint condition during transit. NCS does not consider
these materials to be of archival quality for long term storage, if you are a collector.
Although the bag and board are acid free and rated as 100% archival, they should only be
used for short term storage of 3-6 months. We recommend the use of mylar sleeves for the
long term storage of periodicals that you wish to keep in archival quality. NCS stores
thousands of import magazines, mooks and complete runs of publications in cool storage in
4 mil mylar. |
