To the right, we have a screenshot from the arcade version of Namco's Tekken 3. The color palette available to the arcade original is huge, so that textures and shading appear smooth and natural. Massive amounts of ram also serve to give the game speed, endurance and an absence of flicker as you pummel your opponent in 3-D planes of motion. Needless to say, Tekken 3 in the arcades is breathtaking and most machines are crowded with fans, admirers, and the occasional truant who should be in school. Our current cost for Tekken 3 arcade kits range from US$1400 to US$2300, depending on the condition and vendor.  I Arcade JAMMA: Tekken 3
To the right, we have a preliminary screenshot from the Playstation version featuring the exact scene that we took from the arcade version. Jin's fleshtones appear washed out and the pictures in the background have been replaced with a simpler nature scene. Other than that, the port is excellent and of superb quality. Notice the correct shadows of the figures on the floor and the detail on the clothing that Jin and Hwoarang are wearing. Both characters are also larger in the Playstation version. The price of the PS version will come in at an impressive US$58. I Playstation Tekken 3

Sakura Taisen OVA I    The Sakura Taisen OVA that we mentioned in one of our journals from last week is expected to arrive a bit earlier than we originally thought. Slated for a February 12 release in Japan, we may have the video in stock by next Wednesday. We've seen a 5-minute preview of the OVA and it looks like a high quality production from Sega/Red/Bandai Visual with exceptional artwork and glossy special effects. The voice action should also please fans of the original Saturn game. The Sakura OVA is being priced at US$49 (Y5800 in Japan) and an update will be posted next week.
