 Gameboy Advance Debut Software

Launch List

Current as of last night, the complete listing of Gameboy Advance release software, acknowledged and confirmed by three distribution houses in Japan is listed to the right. Sega's Chu Chu Rocket does not make an appearance and there is only one Mario on the list. There was some confusion earlier in the week concerning Mario's appearance on March 21 and we can now propose that only Super Mario Kart Advance will make it at launch. Our original update was correct and we'll revise pre-orders back to their original state.
Mario Advance, the side scrolling platform game based on the FC/NES "Mario" variant does not appear to be a debut title. As such, NCS' mailing update from Tuesday morning stands and all pre-orders which chose Mario Kart will be filled. If you subsequently chose Mario Advance, we will by default, switch you over to Mario Kart unless you inform us otherwise. Online store details have been revised as of this morning to reflect this reversal and a message will be issued to all members of the GBA mailing list.
If anything changes from this point forth, we will update accordingly but pre-orders for the GBA (and everything else) via Japanese vendors have finalized last week and this usually signifies a closed book for March. Note the word "usually" since last minute movements may still occur, especially with Sega's recent announcements and forays.
The titles that NCS will be able to package with our GBA offer are highlighted in blue. All of the other games, in black background, will be stocked at launch and will be available for general sales. Doraemon and Mr Driller are likely candidates for additional inclusion by our customers but everything else is niche fare...
Now that GBA preorders are done, the next Nintendo project would be the Gamecube. However, there is no news and no all-important buzz from Japanese distribution which is uncharacteristic. This may mean GC is still months and months, perhaps a year away from release in Japan. Only an observation that may be refuted soon. We'll see.
