Final Fantasy VIII in stock
Two days late but it's here. The game will not boot on domestic Playstations that have been chipped prior to today. Asian companies already have a chip solution to resolve the problem - a chip for PU-8 and another chip for PU-22 pcboards. All customers will receive an NCS worksheet explaining the methods to play this game. Retail US$78.

Dreamcast Magazine 03/19
NCS has confirmed extra quantities of DC Magazine for the week of March 19. This particular issue includes a preview GD-Rom that features a number of Dreamcast titles due in March and April. The only caveat is that the additional issues will be a bit more expensive (US$15) because we will have to purchase them directly from Japanese magazine racks. Pre-orders for the magazine were closed to distribution last month. If you are interested in a copy of this issue, please submit your reservation this week. NCS expects to take delivery of the magazine on March 08.
Neo Geo Pocket Color April Schedule
Eight confirmed NGP Color cartridges have been announced for April 22. SNK would be well advised to scatter their game releases apart since eight new releases on a single day bodes ill for sales. For example, SNK will ship 11 games with the debut of the NGP on March 18 but there's nothing else shipping until April 22. Perhaps 2 releases per week would fare better and build anticipation. Fatal Fury, Samurai Shodown 2 and Metal Slug should prove to be the best sellers in April. We're intrigued and look forward to Metal Slug on the small screen.

Capital Markets
The huge amounts of SPX and OEX puts that were written and bought on Wednesday were obliterated in yesterday's mammoth bull run. Toast.  The action played to script beautifully. The short squeeze was most awesome in the NDX with the Nasdaq running nearly 100 points to the upside. 100 points on the Naz is phenomenal and is roughly equivalent to 500 Dow points. Short players who took heavy positions in the NDX on Wednesday were killed if they were not nimble enough to close their positions in the face of the tidal wave. Bears are licking their wounds after the beating they took but the time to short will come again very soon. Watch the BKX and the money flows for cues on market direction. Put/call ratio is also very important but you must watch them with a contrarian bias - i.e, do the opposite of what the crowd is doing during extreme selling or extreme buying. Those who opened short positions on the NDX after it broke down for five sessions were too late to the party and got whipped. Yesterday, we saw some extreme buying and short covering - so it should've been okay to take some short positions near market close on Thursday. NCS is keeping 02 SPH at 1238, opened 02 SPH at 1228, kept all of the RUT shorts and kept the BKX short. We bought a single NDX put at -20 strike but we're not entirely confident with this one and will build a position based on momentum. Completely regret selling the original SPH 1248 position at a loss on Tuesday but discipline cuts both ways. We have also jumped back into the AMZN/YHOO train with March puts at -20 strike. They might be in the money today. Momentum for the nets is still down and we saw some panicky short covering yesterday since these things can run with incredible strides. Downside test levels remain SPX 1228 with an eye towards 1188 if 1228 is broken again. Staying nimble and mining capital.
Mr. Yen
Stable forex makes for calm multi-nationals. With the dollar/yen so close to equilibrium, it is not in play. We note the trading strength in the Australian dollar in the overnight session and look for it to break the 52 week upper trading band in the next couple of weeks. The AUS also moves in a wide range which makes it a good arbitrage play.
