Final Fantasy VIII Tomorrow
Tomorrow is only a day away. NCS dislikes shipping delays, moreso than our customers since it impedes progress and hampers efficiency.
Dreamcast Magazine March 19
We've been deluged with requests for the March 19th issue of DC Magazine. This issue will contain a special Dreamcast preview disc of games such as Blue Stinger and Buggy Hear. At the beginning of each quarter, our periodicals vendor asks us to pre-order our quantities for each magazine. These numbers were submitted a month ago but since this appears to be a special situation, we will try to increase our quantity for this particular issue. We can make no assurances at this point however but we'll keep our customers updated.
Playstation April Import Schedule
NCS counts three horse racing games due on April 01. The biggest seller for April should undoubtedly be Bust a Move 2, Enix's revolutionary dancing game that spawned a new genre of rhythm based games. Pre-order are welcome.
   Everything Else
Yen Equilibrium
Equilibrium rules the day. The dollar/yen level wants to stay complacent at Y114. Arbitrageurs can lock and load whenever the level strays.
Final Fantasy VIII Gallery
NCS will post a sampling of interesting products that have shipped with the release of the game in tomorrow's update. The product mix ranges from a FFVIII watch that matches the high price of the Metal Gear Chrono Watch, a pair of Zippo lighters, and a silver necklace. The usual assortment of t-shirts are also available in the market. All in all, we have about 15 items that we'll post up in our FFVIII gallery that have been taken from Square's product sheets. NCS is not accepting orders for these items at this time. We offer the gallery for informational purposes only.
Capital Markets
Nasty sell-off in the last session. Levels were broken and discipline kicked in to our detriment. Selling accelerated for the first time in a while and our bias was to flip completely short but we are expecting a bounce today. We will open new long positions on strength but we will flip short if weakness sets in. The downside pain point was SPX 1228 for the first break in the last session. When the S&P hit that level and bounced back to 1230, we got rid of the 4 SPH 1248s at a loss. We quadrupled our RUT short position at that level to hedge the remaining 2 SPH that were opened at SPX 1238. We have also opened up a short position in the BKX. Targets are now as follows: SPX has broken support at 1228 and can trend down to 1188 from it's current level of 1216. The banking index has broken support at 760 and looks to gap down to 732 from the current level of 754. The Deutsche Bank / Banker's Trust deal has the potential of weakening or strengthening the index for the short term, depending on the outcome of the acquisition. NCS will watch the action in the Dow and the Transports for cues on further breaks in the indexes. This market can crash down like a tidal wave one of these days but sentiment is too bearish right now. The volume in OEX / SPX puts was humongous yesterday. OEX / SPX call volume was nil. Options expiry is rushing up next week and we look for all those index puts to expire worthless. Translation: Improbable bull run.
