| To
add insult to injury of Macross M3 being delayed for two days,
our allocation of the M3 Limited Edition was cut in half and
NCS will be unable to fill all pre-orders. We will contact
customers who we are unable to supply this morning on the
prognosis and offer the regular edition to them. If you do not
receive an e-mail, you have been allocated the LE, which will
ship today. Apologies for the mess, but Sega's change in
distribution plans last week wrecked our pre-order quantities.
Thankfully, nothing else appears to be affected and Sakura
Taisen 3 LE remains on schedule without any
hindrances.

Not that it makes much difference now, since the Macross M3
short shipment was only discovered today, but NCS has finished
our arrangements with other suppliers for import stock and
problems like this should be held at bay for the future.

The loving couple of Maximillian Jenius and Millia Falina
Jenius, the unstoppable ace Valkrie drivers, collaborate in
this new Macross shooting game. They are joined by one
Moaramia, a young purple haired girl who completes the M3 team
and the game's namesake.
Reviewed by Dreamcast Magazine in last week's
issue, Macross M3 received an average score of 6.66 out of 10.
As mentioned before, this ranks the game above previous 32-bit
Macross games on the Playstation. A bevy of Valkrie models may
be driven by the heroes: VF-1, the original variable fighter
which remains in service but was eventually replaced by the
VF-4 Lightning III. The VF-4 offers more maneuverability and
speed. In addition to the standard GU-11 gunpods found in the
VF-1, the VF-4 is bulked up with twin beam cannons. The
VF-3000, is based on the VF-1J, a limited production model in
the Macross universe. This model is meant for use in planetary
engagements where it dominates in combat but still offers the
performance level of the VF-4 in space faring environments.
Other variable fighters in the game include the VF-9, the
VF-14, and the F-5000. Macross M3 limited edition includes one
character trading card and is packaged in a flip-top
box. |

pilots get to maneuver some great gear, and the latest Macross
game is no exception. Battling in both planetary and edge of
space scenarios, the Jenius duo and Moaramia attack and strafe
with the best of them. Upon starting the game, players choose
from a variety of mechs and plug-ins which affect speed,
maneuverability and generally enhance mech capability and
flight control. Game-wise, M3 is smooth in both appearance and
execution. Toggle between fighter to gerwalk to robot and the
transition is seamless as your mech hatches from one form to
the other. Missles and staccato vulcan fire also erupt in fine
form, with vapor trails for the missles and illuminated sparks
for the vulcan blasts. All in all, fans of the series will
find a beautifully rendered action shooter which slakes the
thirst for interactive Macross gaming.

The
weekly news section of the latest DCM previews the AOU 2001
(arcade show) and lists the top dogs on display. Konami
stampedes a load of Bemani titles to the show and rides the
horse for all it's worth.
Reviews for this week's games include Fish
Eyes Wild 8, 9, 5 and Rhapsody of Zephyr 6, 6,
6. Since Sakura 3 is on the way, the coverage continues
with views of the action, town maps, and another snapshot of
the limited edition bonuses of the music box and VMU
accessory. Capcom's Eldorado Gate Vol. 4 is previewed and we
get the basic storyline of the game and the main characters
who will be featured in the new volume. A Chu Chu Rocket on
GBA page checks out the upcoming miniaturization of Sega's
puzzle game on the Advance and some screenshots are offered of
the action. In the arcade section, Air Trix continues to grind
it's way in coin-op land with it's Tony Hawk-ish skateboarding
style. Dynamic Golf for the Naomi 2 appears beautifully
rendered with convincing greens and lifelike golfers.

In
Norse mythology, the world tree Yggdrasil touched the
lands of Sweartaelfham, icy Niflheim, Jötunheimr,
the heavens of Asgård and the depths of Helheim. The
nine worlds were all interconnected by the mighty ash, set in
the center of the universe and conduit for all things.
Eithea follows this philosophy, and all things in
the world are anchored by the Tree of Ere. The story in the
game begins with familiar conflict between a hunter-gatherer
tribe and a capitalistic society which drains natural
resources to enrich their coffers. An earthquake sets the
drama on it's ear when an inter-dimensional portal is ripped
open and foul creatures spill into the fair lands of Eithea.
As the game's hero Shou, you and fellow party members venture
forth to quell the potential for disaster and right the wrongs
in motion.

Fire Pro Wrestling D arrives on Wednesday and Bloody
Roar 3, Zone of Enders land on Thursday. ZOE
regular edition includes the playable Metal Gear Solid
2 demo and pre-orders for this game are now closed. Everyone
wants that demo... Zone of Enders LE may encounter some
problems in supply since one vendor completely cancelled our
pre-order due to no allocation from Konami but we will
scramble and push buttons tonight to attempt to recoup the
units and pull them from other suppliers. NCS will update
pre-order customers by tomorrow. Sony's Poiny Poin was
also expected this week but it has been postponed until the
April timeframe.
Restock expected for this week include DC Bangaioh,
Dream Studio, Guilty Gear X, Napple Tale,
PS Blade Arts, Hokuto no Ken ~ Legends of the
Saviour, Patlabor, and PS2 Dead or Alive 2
Hardcore. |

morning's arrivals include PS2 SCPH-18000 consoles and
all pre-orders will ship today. No new orders are being
accepted this morning - the units are sold out. A new third
party Dreamcast VGA box from Hais has been added to the
online store at US$39 along with PS Bio-Hazard Gun Survivor,
PS2 Bikkuri Mouse, Bikkuri USB Mouse, and Super
Puzzle Bobble. Bandai's Wonderborg units are also
available today at US$160 per unit but this item will be added
online tomorrow morn.
