Puru Puru Pack
   Imports
Puru Puru Pack
NCS received an initial shipment of the DC Puru Puru pack (US$25). Some orders have been dispatched already but the rest of our customer's pre-orders will ship on Monday. NCS has tested the Puru Puru with all of the games in our library; the vibration is good, it's forceful and impacts a good jolt to your hands when playing. The games that we have found to work firsthand with the Puru Puru are as follows:
Aero Dancing Pop 'n Music
Evolution Power Stone
Godzilla Generations Psychic Force 2012
Incoming Puyo Puyo 4
Pen Pen Tricelon Tetris 4D
The Puru packaging lists Sengoku Turb as a game that supports the Puru Puru but we didn't keep a copy of this game for our own collection and can't confirm it firsthand. It should work fine however since the packaging lists it.
Blue Stinger Posters
NCS received a number of requests from customers who wanted to procure the Blue Stinger poster that we usually only give to reseller locations. We have some spare posters to give out to retail customers - all we ask is that you pay for the cost of the tube and priority mail shipping which should be $6 total. We will go down our e-mail list and confirm with everyone until we run out. Sorry that we can't satisfy each customer request but stores need the posters to attract customer pre-orders and show that they have the cool promotional stuff from Japan. Dreamcast logo window stickers have also been popular with stores because they can stick them on their display cases and declare their DC stock.
Dreamcast Piracy
NCS holds software piracy in disdain. Intellectual property rights are a fundamental foundation of any capitalist society. Copyright theft harms property owners and hurts business in general. However much we may hold piracy in disregard, NCS is not so naive to think that it can be stopped. Asian companies earn millions of dollars per annum selling Playstation silvers and their targets are fixed squarely on the Dreamcast as the next engine of revenue after the Playstation. Despite rumors and news items that have been reported on newsgroups and websites, no Dreamcast copies are available in Hong Kong, Malaysia or Singapore. Old school trading partners of NCS who have entered the "cloning" business have assured us that they do not have the capability. Yet. Damn the CeQuadrat rubbish. NCS has no doubt that the process will be fabricated soon and is on the way, perhaps as early as this June or July. It's like a tidal wave that is building up...and the dams won't hold it back. Once this happens, vendors in Japan, the USA, etc will be hurt all over again by software theft.
   Everything Else
Yen Equilibrium
The dollar continues to edge down and stands at Y122.6. This is normal profit taking after the hefty greenback run-up to Y123.4 on Thursday. Our downside target remains 119 over the next week but we will go long again once that support is hit and we'll play the rebound to Y125. On another note, the weak Euro continues to show us that perhaps London was wise in avoiding the united currency. Since the Euro started trading this year, it has steadily eroded against the US Dollar, the Japanese Yen, and the British Pound.
Playstation 2
We're nearing three hundred pre-orders for the new Sony hype machine. Pun. Although the new Sony console is still probably a year away, early adopters want to make sure that they're in contention for a crack at being the first to get one. We understand the exuberance since the market has been abuzz ever since Sony released those unbelievable specs. NCS doubts that Sega will change their business rhythm to address the threat of PS2 anytime soon. The Dreamcast has a healthy head start and should establish itself as a strong contender with critical volume in Japan by the summertime.
NCS On-Line Store
Our storefront will be up and fully functional on Monday. Our complete Dreamcast catalog, recent Playstation software and new stock items will be available for ordering on-line. NCS will gradually add the rest of our entire catalog into the store over the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, we have an appointment to meet with our current web design company to figure out a new solution. NCS think it will take some time to implement a completely new store but in the meantime, we are satisfied with what we have now and have been able to adapt the current store for our needs. We don't have full control of the layout and presentation parameters but it will do for the short term. Please order with confidence from the on-line store and rest assured that all orders will be processed with the efficacy and speed that you have been accustomed to with National Console.
Capital Markets 07:59AM
NCS opened a single short SPH contract in the last session when the SPX hit 1272. We then watched it ramp higher to 1275 and then fall as low as 1267. Kept it and the market closed at 1275.47. We're three points in the red but we have placed a stop on this order to close out if SPX hits 1278. At that level, we will open up five long SPH because SPX 1278 will signal SPX1300 is on the way as long as the overall market is cooperative. If 1278 is crossed, we will consider that new support if it can hold above that level for 2 sessions. If not, a return to 1228 will be quick and nasty.
