 PS SD Gundam Eiyuden

Scans

Subtitled Daikessen!! Knight vs Musha, the super deformed Gundam warriors break out of the tactics and strategy mold of previous SD Gundam games and wreak fighting havoc in 3-D arenas of battle. Roam, slash, and throttle special attacks against foes as you view the action from a number of camera positions. Mechs may be customized with new weapons and armor, as well as attribute boosts to enhance battle performance and defensive ability.
We're treated to some fairly standard fare here and the main selling point lies in the strength of the SD Gundam franchise. Bandai's action based games are usually hit or miss, as evidenced by the DBZ games, but this one straddles a middle ground of mediocrity with no outstanding elements.

 Dreamcast Magazine Vol. 7

Scans

The weekly Dreamcast soft review bestows a triumphant 7,9,8 rating on Fire Pro Wrestling D, last week's mega release. A section entitled "Where does Sega Go?", referring to the new company strategy, checks in on all of the studios under the Sega banner including Sonic Team, Smilebit, Hitmaker and AM2. A preview of Wow/Namco's System 246 arcade game Vampire Night shuffles a bunch of preternatural creatures into the shooting range and does away with the whimsical shooting fare found in previous Namco shooters such as Gunbarl and most recently, Gunbarina. A fleshed out AOU 2001 coin-op preview  covers Virtua Striker 3, Stunt Typhoon, Mocap Boxing, and a couple of the new Bemani machines due to hit the market soon.
Dreamcast game previews include Crazy Taxi 2, es, Virgin on Meggido, and Exodus Guilty Neos. The "Dream a Girl" section features Japanese singer Risa Tani.

Every once in a while, an issue of DCM comes about which is invaluable to the Sega/DC enthusiast. Here's one of them.
First, a special Sakura Taisen trading card is included inside a pink envelope attached to the magazine. This card may be used with the recently released Sakura trading card game. The Sakura 3 magazine preview also checks out new battle screens and back story on the characters.
Second, every game ever released for the Japanese DC is listed in a special 40-page section. Each game gets a screenshot, DCM's rating, date of release and a brief write-up. A little over 300 games make up the history of DC software and fans are treated to a  varied and notable library of recent gaming history. All D-Direct games are listed also.
Third, a 10-page history of Sonic the Hedgehog checks out the blue blur from his origins in 1991 to the current day - the 10th anniversary celebration takes place this year.

The release of third party accessories for the PS One, ahead of Sony's own initiatives have made the tiny console a true portable machine. LCD screens from vendors have been available for months and the recent release of mobile power supplies completes the circle. The PS One battery pack in stock today is heavy duty and powers the console + LCD screen for 3 hours on a full charge and may be recharged via car adaptor or standard wall socket.  It also weighs in at a bulky 4.5 lbs.

 Weather Toil

Snow Job

Poor weather conditions in the Northeast over the past couple of days may delay some of NCS' outbound shipments. Please allow up to 2-3 additional days over normal transit time to account for many flight delays and/or cancellations by all of the major couriers. The snow appears to have stopped and the rest of the week should be normal.

The weather really wasn't that horrible in our corner of New York City but as demonstrated by local weathermen and news outlets, perception of reality is more important than actual reality.
