Heavy snow falls in New York and hampers all expected
inbound shipments. If NCS is able to take delivery of new
cargo, GBA orders received last week will be shipped today. If
our couriers are unable to deliver, shipments will go out on
Tuesday morning. Sorry for the unrelenting skies.

Konami's
re-release of the X68000 version of Akumajou Dracula appears
to be postponed to a later date. The Playstation rehash was
scheduled for last week, then moved to this week according to
vendors, and now sits in TBA limbo. Konami's website still lists it as 03/22
but we'll post an update when more details arise. The
Playstation remake retains the original X68K game but adds
introduction and ending cinemas to the core, rendering it a
more complete thriller.

The
Sharp X68000 version of Akumajou Dracula originally made it to
market in 1993 and followed the travels of Simon Belmont on
his quest to destroy Dracula. Simon explores a haunting chapel, Drac's
stately castle and even takes a thrilling raft ride as beasts
assail him.

Only one Dendo Gold and three Dendo Silvers were issued from
the pages of Famitsu on the Gameboy Advance storm that hit
last week. The Gold goes to Powerful Pro Kun 3, a
baseball simulation from Konami and Silvers shout out to F-Zero
Advance, Rockman EXE, and Mr. Driller 2.
Rockman EXE plays a crisp 3-D isometric board game featuring Rockman
characters, mini-games, and interaction.

Some other import games which received Dendo Gold from Famitsu
last week were: PS2 Bio-Hazard Code Veronica Perfect
Version, Klonoa 2, and DC Bio-Hazard CVPV, Sakura
Taisen 3 ~ Is Paris Burning?

The
harried rush of last week found NCS neglecting the Onimusha
wall scrolls that were mentioned last Tuesday. Today, we
post all three scrolls that are on offer from Japanese suppliers.
The scroll we label as "A" seems to be drawing a lot
of interest from customers. Pricing sits at US$25 and NCS expects delivery by the second
week of April. Pre-orders are welcome by e-mail
request.

Recently, NCS received a spate of solicitations from Japanese
toy suppliers. Some products on offer last week included
Sailor Moon wands, Card Captor plush dolls, and anime themed
ramen noodles...

NCS won't be able to match last week's sales numbers for a while but
it can't hurt to try with this week's gaggle of offerings. The Gameboy Advance was a major success and
continues to attract strong sales this week. Moving back to the
current day and the big
consoles, the following new imports are all expected this week. The
DC imports are slated for Wednesday and PS imports are scheduled
for
Thursday.

When
a group of overly excited, big breasted, rump bouncing girls dressed in
skimpy outfits do their thing, quips and giggles may bellow
forth from viewers. Some may find it compelling, others
ludicrous. Competing in events such as tree chopping,
boxing, and something that can only be called "butt
sumo", the energetic girls in Super Galdelic Hour are
your ticket to ride if you're open to strange behavior from
the land of the rising sun
and the depths that such behavior plumbs. The madness that is
Super Galdelic begins this Thursday. Fear it.

Another supply of MVS
cartridges arrived last week to fill our stock and the
current listing has been updated to reflect what's available.
Notable: Garou Mark of the Wolves and Captain Tomaday are in
stock again while Metal Slug 3 at the lower price should
arrive within 2-3 weeks.

Prospective
Neo Geo MVS clientele need some basic equipment before joining the
ranks: A JAMMA cabinet/set-up and an MVS x-slot motherboard.

History
|
|
It doesn't seems that long ago, but then again, perhaps it has
been a while... Back in 1995-1996,
publisher Tokuma Shoten teamed up with Captain Soft to produce
a Sega Saturn CD-Rom magazine which previewed Saturn games in
both playable demo form and cinematic spurts. Spelunking
within the recesses of storage areas always seems to excavate
old NCS stock from years ago. Six volumes of Saturn Super,
preserved in immaculate condition, are on offer again online
at
US$15 per issue.
|
|
|
Saturn Super Magazine lasted for eleven volumes before
succumbing to the pitfalls of low circulation, a disinterested
readership, and poor sales
in Japan. For a while, ASCII's Tech Saturn carried the torch
of CD-Rom previews but that too faded into
oblivion.
