Sports Jam |
Scans

Ported from Naomi to Dreamcast with the quickness, eight sporting
events are plumbed in Sega's Sports Jam. The big three (at least in America)
consisting of baseball, basketball and football are
represented by mini games named "The Great Slugger",
"3 Point Shootout", and "The Kicker"
respectively. Football also nabs a second event dubbed
"Touch Down Derby" where big 'uns run down the
field.
The other sports in attendance include soccer, tennis,
golf, hockey,
and cycling. In cycling, you attempt to take a track in the
fastest time as a Swatch counts down the seconds. A collection
of twelve events make up the totality of Sports Jam - all of
which are described in the "Scans"
link for the game.

big boy named "Mamma" collaborates with Pamela, the
wrestler from Eldorado Vol. 3, and the two embark on a trip to
a fighting championship where they test their skills against
others. Finally, a young girl named Mima suffers from unknown

Beatmania ~ The Sound of Tokyo |
Scans
|
|
Konami's vision, or audible perception at least, of Tokyo
sounds off and scatters across the tracks of this recent
Beatmania game. Recent, because NCS faltered when suppliers
were unable to fulfill our pre-orders on a timely basis.
Nevertheless, Comoestas gets lively with 'mambotango no. 5'
and TMVG fits perfectly into the groove by teaching 'How to
Scratch Part. 1'. atomic soul experiences mixes it up with 'a
monkey scratches' and Take Rodriguez defines the experience
with 'Game of Exotica'. Similarly styled beats, mixes, and
sounds from the clubs, dance floors, and disco hubs of Tokyo
make their mark on this latest Beatmania volume.

Canvas
(US$65)
for the Dreamcast joins NCS this morning, along with Sega
Gaga Regular Edition (US$68)
and ASCII Casual Collection ~ Power Dolls 2 (US$29).
On the Gameboy Advance, we take hold of the Light Boy
Advance (US$35),
an official Nintendo licensed magnifier + light from Sun Seiba
Entertainment.
Due to a pricing disparity from our suppliers for
Sega Gaga, the item is listed at US$68. NCS has little
control over D-Direct products and we had hoped to bring this
item in at around the same level as Vampire Chronicle but
instead it matches the price that we peddle Super Street
Fighter IIX at. Due to this problem, we will contact
everyone who pre-ordered the game to confirm acceptance at
this new price. The limited edition of Sega Gaga may
arrive next week but we'll update this information within the
next couple of days once we determine allocation.
Finally, Gameboy Advance protective plastic cases
arrived this morning along with decorative sticker sets which
affix to the face of the GBA. We'll examine these and post an
update in tomorrow's capsule of news.

A boatload of Saturn import restock is due on Thursday or
Friday. It's difficult to gauge since our shipper mistakenly
sent the cargo by a non-traditional courier and the boatload
reference is literal. Hopefully we won't revisit a scenario
encountered with DHL a couple of years back. We'll update
accordingly once the stock arrives.

Preorders
for Super Real Mahjong were fairly tepid. Bland. Which is why
we were surprised when the game arrived and an explosion of
interest swiped stock from shelves at an alarming pace. We
have now restocked a sizable quantity that should last for at
least 1-2 months. Another pending shipment expected in 2 weeks
should extend our stock for another 2 months after that.
