Omega Boost / SONY
A reminder that Omega Boost is shipping next week on April 22. This 3-D
shooter from the Gran Turismo coding team promises fast and fluid shooting action with
your on-screen persona being a large mech. Pre-release buzz has been positive and shooter
fans can look forward to a dazzling addition to their software libraries next week. This
being a Sony release, perhaps we can expect a 20-line PAR or Gameshark import code this
time around and a memory card dongle... |

Anti-Mod
We feel that it's fair to say that all future Square, Konami and Sony Japanese
imports will be anti-mod protected. The new protections appear to be different for each
new release and are getting sophisticated. NCS recommends the use of a PAR device in
conjunction with any mod-chipped Playstation for the best combination to get past the
protection schemes that are seemingly too common nowadays. NCS can also supply Japanese
territory Playstation consoles if you wish to play imports in a direct, unfettered manner.
Our price for the SCPH-7503 model is US$159. |

You Can Dance
Well, only after an elaborate code set courtesy of Bung Japan. Dance
Dance Revolution requires the following Game Shark or PAR primer before it will load on
chip-modded Playstations. |

Our exchange trade went the other way but it's okay. We're buying long
dollar at these levels (Y117.90) this morning in larger chunks. We'll continue to buy down
into Y116.70 with an upside target back to Y121.80. |

Final Fantasy 8 Products
Due to the large number of people who submitted requests for the
Squall necklace, we will choose the names today and ship the product by the close of
business. We have contacted our suppliers in Japan for additional quantities but they are
unable to give assurances for any more necklaces at this point. We will update this
information if we hear anything by Monday. We'll keep all of the Squall submissions on
hand for another drawing if we are able to obtain some more from Japan. |

We have a good-sized short in the RUT right now and a large long
position in AOL. We may sell out of AOL this morning for a 10 point gain on each contract
because the overall market action is bearish. There was a nice recovery in the last
session near the close of trading but that may have been momentum players pouring in and
hoping for a rebound today. It's not happening and positions may be exited quickly. We'll
wait until noon before making any decisive action. The RUT is surprisingly resilient today
but we think it will break down. Looking at the ratio of puts to calls, it appears that
many other players had the same notion that we had earlier this week but the market may
try to squeeze the put players out today. We'll remain with the position since we have
conviction in the trade. When it does break down, it will plummet hard and fast. |
