NCS received a Grandia preview disc this morning. No, not the RPG but a new Grandia side story that is expected on May 28. After checking the disc out for a couple of minutes, it appears that the new "gaiden" will consist of a collection of mini-games that feature the characters from Grandia. An image gallery is also featured though the artwork on the preview disc contained mostly pencil sketches and a couple of finished paintings. In the scene to the right, the Grandia duo engage in an eating contest. The posted price for this release is Y3500 and NCS expects to retail it in the US$40 range. Pre-orders are welcome. -

Pocket Fighter    Before they reigned as the women warriors of the night, they were kids. See Felicia, Morrigan, and Lei Lei hone their fighting styles at an early age in Pocket Fighter, confirmed for June 11 on the Playstation. The cast from Street Fighter (somehow a young Zangief already sports a full beard and rippling physique) and Tabasa from Warzard join the girls for some underage brawling. Even little Gouki makes the scene and bouts with the other kids. Pre-orders are now open for Pocket Fighter. If you can't wait for the home version, NCS can always offer the arcade version of PF. The CPS kit is available at US$650 and delivery can be completed within 5 business days from the day of your order.

MVS versions of Last Blade, Shock Troopers and Blazing Star are on the way from Japan. As usual with our MVS stock, the carts come from arcade operators who are shipping us their stock from their floor machines. The shipment details are as follows:

MVS Last Blade US$150
MVS Shock Troopers US$150
MVS Art of Fighting III US$55

-    Treasure's Radiant Silvergun is now expected in Japanese arcades sometime in mid-May. A JAMMA distributor in Japan is already accepting pre-orders at ~US$770 for a new board with complete marquee, header stickers and side panel artwork. A Saturn version should hit the scene soon after the arcade version thanks to Treasure's use of the Sega ST-V hardware for the game. NCS will post more details as RS' release solidifies.
Looking forward to next Monday, NCS expects Shining Force III Scenario II to be the only new release for next week. A small amount of restock should also arrive, including regular editions of X-Men vs Street Fighter and more Vampire Saviour to shore up our dwindling supply. The Athena Mamiya doll that we took pre-orders for a couple of weeks ago is expected next week. More details and photos on Monday.
