War is never pretty. There may be victory on one side but it's invariably at tremendous human cost. With this in mind, Advanced 2001 sets forth a tale before each campaign to justify why your forces must obliterate the other side. Identical in execution to previous games in the series, players command forces which scale the land, air, and sea. Strategic considerations on the battlefield include towns which may be taken over and used as a source of funds or as makeshift bastions. War units and cadres also level up when experience mounts to enhance their fighting capability. A scenario editor makes it's way onto the GD-Rom to give hardcore players the ability to create their own campaigns and conjure up a myriad of "What If" wars. It's a weighty proposition to craft a scenario given the detail and overflowing amount of options available in the game but an equally ponderous user manual packed in the jewel case should help ease some of the rigors of creation. |
