is never pretty. There may be victory on one side but it's
invariably at tremendous human cost. With this in mind,
Advanced 2001 sets forth a tale before each campaign to
justify why your forces must obliterate the other side.
Identical in execution to previous games in the series,
players command forces which scale the land, air, and sea.
Strategic considerations on the battlefield include towns
which may be taken over and used as a source of funds or as
makeshift bastions. War units and cadres also level up when
experience mounts to enhance their fighting capability. A
scenario editor makes it's way onto the GD-Rom to give
hardcore players the ability to create their own campaigns and
conjure up a myriad of "What If" wars. It's a
weighty proposition to craft a scenario given the detail and
overflowing amount of options available in the game but an
equally ponderous user manual packed in the jewel case should
help ease some of the rigors of creation.

freak car accident occurs and you are seriously injured. Your in-game persona migrates from human body to fleeting
existence as disembodied spirit. The first indication of this
new state of affairs is the non-reaction of a nurse who passes
you by in the hospital where you see your physical form. The
aim is to find a way to return to your comatose body and live
again - by joining soul to flesh once again. The way to life
is by interacting indirectly with four girls in the game and
your best friend Fujisaki Ryusaku. The interaction in the game
occurs in the rooms of the girls, school, and other locales.
The player maneuvers a finger cursor to move objects and
examine things in order to make a character react or remember
you. Using physical powers will however drain your "sense
soul power" which affects your energy level. Characters
in the game include the tomboyish Shoko Shiomi and your
girlfriend Yuna, who has forgotten you. Use cues and wistful
soul power to make her remember.

Richard Miller takes up the gun once again, this time to avenge his name,
which has been besmirched by Wild Dog and a kingpin of crime
who goes by the moniker Kantaris. The president of a foreign
country has been assassinated and Richard's been accused of
said foulness. Staking out in a bid to clear himself, our hero
and onscreen persona manages to become the epicenter of
gunfire in every level. You'll do fine as long as you remember
to duck, scoot, or otherwise hide whenever buckshot heads your
way. As you return fire, notice the danse macabre of your
targets when bullets meet flesh. Shoot foes in the legs and they'll
pirouette and spin a death dance. Blast non-vital areas and the
hapless will clutch their wounded parts before going down.
Some will even do a head over heels spin upon impact.
Theatrics aside, Time Crisis supplies an enjoyable romp in an
otherwise barren genre, wracked by bad press.

A
heads up notice. Apparently, rumblings of shortages are already in
full swing among vendors in Japan and rumors of short
shipments are assailing NCS. It will probably be messy if this
problem pans out but we won't have the full details until
tonight when initial shipments are released. Distributors were
not allowed to ship early like they usually do and we now
expect all deliveries to arrive on Friday or next Monday. Due
to the scattered information at this point, please refrain
from calling or e-mailing NCS concerning this problem until we
have the full details tomorrow morning. Everything we know at
this point is contained in this box. Conversations with
suppliers overnight were not hopeful and it appears allocation
was cut at the last minute to many, many companies.
In short, sure the game's finally being released
but there may not be enough to go around. Never mind that GT3
is probably the most anticipated PS2 game since the console
launched. We'll update again tomorrow morning after we speak
to all suppliers that we are sourcing this title from. NCS
usually buys weekly stock from 3 different distributors but we
relied on a total of 8 companies for this game. Doesn't look
like our planning, pre-payments and pleas (or anything else) will help in this case.

Altron added Cleopatra's Fortune to the Dreamcast
release schedule for June 7 overnight. The puzzle game is
priced at a hefty Y5800, which is odd especially since a
Saturn version was released years ago. We'll provide more
details soon.

A Playstation
restock listing will be posted tomorrow. Some items have
already been added online but we'll compile everything on
Thursday morning.
