-   The Pocket Color Gameboy should begin shipping to Japanese customers in the next two weeks. Unlike the recent Pocket Gameboy Light, this new Color Gameboy will feature a color screen that some camps have been clamoring for. Although pre-orders are closed for this item, NCS expects to take initial delivery of 48 units with a larger quantity slated to arrive within a week or two. Tentative retail is US$89.
With the release of a new color model of the Gameboy, NCS expects all publishers to support the color screen and continue to support the B&W screen of older models. New titles for the GB market in Japan and the USA have been sparse but we look for a rejuvenated market as publishers produce color versions of their past hits to start the ball rolling. NCS looks forward to a colorized version of Bubble Bobble from Taito.

Our import shipment didn't make it in today but we'll have everything on Monday. We have major restock expected, including a good quantity of Neo-Geo and Neo-CD imports. A complete listing of Saturn and Sony restock will be posted on Monday. Some notable titles include Bust a Move, Armored Trooper Votoms Limited Box, Sakura Taisen II and The Yakyuken Special. We are beginning to wonder if Yakyuken is the stuff of legends nowadays since there is widespead interest in the game from many fronts. The publisher Societa has re-released the game three times in the past three years, at full original retail, so it must be pretty popular in Japan as well. To check out an early view of the game from National Console, click here. On the Asian front, we'll restock on the new 4 in 1 cards next week. These cards have been manufactured to work properly with Vampire Saviour and X-Men vs Street Fighter. I.e, no more chiseling into pcboards with exacto knives and rewiring traces... -    Looking ahead to next week, SATURN Tempo and SONYPS Fox Junction should ship out from Japan next week. A shipment of new dolls, including a new Rei Ayanami figure in uniform and  a Utena Utena doll should arrive on Wednesday or Thursday. We are not expecting any other releases for next week as many trading houses return to business after the week-long holiday. A shipment of magazines and the latest Gamest Mook (Last Blade) should be available for sale on Monday.
NCS bids everyone a fine weekend.
