 PS2 Flower, Sun, and Rain

Scans

On the island of Lospass, there sits a seaside resort unlike any other. Flower, Sun, and Rain may be more apt as the title of a National Geographic piece but amidst a tropical paradise, it's the epitome of lavish surroundings and well-heeled relaxation. Amenities galore, beautiful women, and modern contrivances are it's other perks. Detective Kodai Sumio figures he's in for an enjoyable couple of days at the resort but a host of pampered guests and socialites alter his immediate destiny by badgering him for help. Aided by a multi-purpose device called a "Dial", Sumio-san divines the circumstances surrounding a situation or a problem by using the gadget in conjunction with the game manual which relates locations of places and offers details on the people encountered in the game. An additional feature of the "Dial" is the ability to determine the nature or purpose of an object. Rendered in 3-D, Flower, Sun, and Rain pleases the eye with it's fluid animation and sumptuous graphics. The gameplay may be likened to standard detective sims where clues are ferreted, folks questioned, and point A must be visited before going to point B. All in all, an enjoyable and unique game brimming with interesting scenarios, characters, and puzzles to solve.

 WSC Final Fantasy 2

Scans

The proverbial evil Empire's on the rise and neighboring lands and people are reduced to conquered fodder. Emperor Paramekia and his demonic hordes lay waste to any village in opposition with the power of the Warship, a mighty vessel, at their beckoning. From this grim scenario, four siblings named Frioniel, Guy, Lionheart, and Maria from the overrun village of Phin join a rebellion to stop the scourge. Queen Hilda, leader of the Resistance, and Prince Gordon provide beacons for the young adventurers as they embark on an imposing quest.
Originally released in 1988, Square's Wonderswan powered re-issue of Final Fantasy 2 improves on the original with enhanced graphical stylings, sound, and swagger. Intricately detailed towns and inner rooms sparkle with cobblestone roads, tiled houses, and spot illumination. Character artwork follows the familiar super-deformed renderings and vibrant sound samples whistle eerily through the WSC's speakers. Click for Square's website on the Final Fantasy II re-release, characters, drama, and improvements made in the new release. A close-up of the carrying strap included in the special edition of the game may also be viewed on Square's site. In stock US$53.
