An
newly orphaned child enters a dormitory filled with amiable women and
in the process, gains five new
mothers and doting teachers. The routine of life revolves
around the dynamics of interaction between you and your new
caretakers who work in different careers and wield specific
skills which they can teach you. Satuki works as a physical
education advisor, excels at sports and looks the part with an
athletic build. Yayoi works in the university medical
department and Uduki advises you on the fine arts. Two other
mother figures teach you about chemistry and literature. A
girl named Minaduki who also lives in the dorm gets a tad
jealous of all the attention you get and acts as a sort of
rival for the affections of the teachers.
Happy Lesson plays in the style of an interaction game where
the feelings of the other characters are affected by your
actions and conversational abilities. Be the good
"son" and you'll be on easy street with the others.
Be bad and
face the whip, or maybe if you're lucky, just a rebuke.

Konohana: True Report |

Deep
inside a forest clearing sits the Konohana high school. As a
transfer student, you expect a calm and quiet two years, given
the serene location of your new school. Alas, on the first day
of classes, a teacher is murdered and you immediately take the
initiative to solve the crime. With the help of classmates,
one of whom runs the school newspaper, you search for clues,
speak to other students and try to stop the assailant before
another murder is committed. An old school legend regarding a
vengeful spirit also adds to the intrigue and injects the
question of whether the murder was by mundane man or
metaphysical myth.
Success describes Konohana as a school mystery
adventure which uses multiple scenarios to link actions to
events. Choosing the right avenue ensures continuation of the
game but act unwisely and an ominous figure may strike you
down and end your stint as detective adventurer.

Roughly half of all
NCS' pre-orders for GT3 will ship today. If you are one of the
customers who'll get a dispatch, we'll send you an e-mail to
notify you. The remaining half of pre-orders will
unfortunately ship on Monday or Tuesday of next week due to
the supply problem in Japan. You will also receive an e-mail
notification this afternoon. If you do not wish to wait,
please reply to NCS' message to inform us so that we can
remove you from the reservation list.
Unfortunately this problem was not handled well
overseas and vendors were unable to fill demand. Other vendors
who also promised our allocation did not fulfill their
agreements and only shipped meager quantities.

|
The GT3 game package includes a separate 177-page Reference
Guide which lists every car in the game in glorious glossy
color. There's also extreme detail on the vehicles and a
primer on using the GT Force Wheel near the front of the
publication. All in all, a superb bonus.
|
|
Due to the short shipments this week, NCS will likely not be
able to accept any new orders for GT3 until the second week of
May. If supplies do magically appear over the next couple of
days, we'll update accordingly. At this time and from our
vantage point, magic appears unlikely.

Logicool GT Force Wheel |

Sizable and husky,
the packaging and weight of the GT Force Wheel behooves us to
only ship it out to customers with UPS Ground service. If you
wish to ignore our advice and ship with overnight delivery,
please note that shipping charges alone will range between
US$50 to US$77 depending on your location in the country.
Quality-wise, GT Force is very well made. Unlike
the cautious market in the USA where accessories are mandated
under a certain price point, the all-out Japanese market
appears to bear the cost of this product (Y10800) very well and
our suppliers were unable to fill our complete pre-order for
this product as well due to high demand. New orders are
welcome to ship today.

Advanced
Daisenryaku 2001 nabs a respectable "7.0" score
in the Review Section of the magazine and next week's Death
Crimson OX ranks a "6.33". So, Ecole's next gun
shooter doesn't exactly suck but it's not impressing the
writers either. This bodes well for a fourth Death Crimson
game since the increasingly better scores may instill
confidence in the publisher.
Virtua Fighter 4 continues it's assault on the
pages of DCM with new screenshots and updated character
stories on why they're returning for the fourth bout. Comic
Party, Fate of Heart, Crazy Taxi 2, and Sonic Adventure 2
appear in previews. In the CT2 feature, many locales are shown
in detail including a stately Burger King, FAO Schwarz, a GAP
store, HMV, and the Hard Rock Cafe. Assorted other
locales are spotted in the feature.
Sakura 3 coverage continues and a section checks out the mini-games found in the third Sakura. A
Naomi coin-op write-up details four games including Monkey
Ball, Virtua Strike 3, Gundam, and Zero Gunner 2. ZG2 appears
to be a highly desirable Raystorm-ish shooter with helicopter
gunships as the agents of destruction.
