Final Fantasy X Update Redux |

| The
following information was released by Square yesterday in
Japan to the business wire service. Thanks to a certain
long-time customer/gaming editor for the e-mail

| Only
one version of Final Fantasy X will see release on July
19 at the price of Y8800. Formerly known as the
"Limited Edition", the game includes enhanced
video and surround sound as touted in news reports
earlier this year. The game ships on only one DVD. Due
to the changes, NCS will automatically shift all
pre-orders for the Limited Edition to this Y8800 edition
which we expect to retail at US$83 to US$88 depending on
final import costs. |

| Every
copy of FFX will include a bonus DVD dubbed "Other
Side of the Final Fantasy". The DVD enhances
the FFX experience by including the following material: |

Square previews of the Final Fantasy movie trailer,
PlayOnline information, and other game trailers. |

FFX development staff interviews, voice actor interviews |
| ^
FFX behind the scenes development, original sketches |

Going
by past and recent history, Square usually ships mammoth
numbers on all of their big games and we're fairly confident
that there won't be a shortage during the initial shipments of
Final Fantasy X. Just to be cautious however, NCS has
requisitioned this game from many, many suppliers instead of
relying on what we've come to know as the "Big
Three". Our original cut-off date for pre-orders to ship
with the first batch was May 21 but since we have over-ordered
by a factor of 2, pre-orders are open until June 21. The Gran
Turismo 3 release was a near-debacle and we'll try to rein in
any problems this time around.

Three titles were
added to the PS2 July schedule overnight and the main July
listing has been updated with this data. The Angelique
Trois LE product information makes no mention of any new
inclusions that are different from the original premium
release a couple of months back. The Fire from Enix
appears to be a 3-CD horror adventure.

The
product solicitation for Koei's Yanya Caballista cel-shaded
skating game makes mention of a skateboard controller to be
included with the game. We're assuming it's a skateboard piece
that you apply over the Dual Shock knobs, similar to the
Surfroid gimmickry from last year.
