Neo Geo
NCS has found another good sized supply of new Neo Geo cartridge
consoles in the Japanese market. Each box contains a Neo Geo console, original joystick,
power adaptor, and A/V cable. We have asked our vendor to reserve the entire supply for
our company and we expect take delivery next week. Pricing for each box is set at US$190.
Please take note that the Neo Geo boxes are over-sized and we recommend shipping with UPS
Ground only due to extravagent air carriage costs if Fedex or UPS are used. Pre-orders are
welcome. |

Beatmania DJ Station
Pro
A small quantity of Konami's professional quality DJ controller deck
for the Playstation was offered to NCS overnight. This controller features excellent
construction quality that is closer to the arcade original's than the controller that we
currently stock for Beatmania. All this comes at a price however: US$95. If
interested, feel free to let us know and we'll bring them in. |

Sega Inertia
Sega Enterprises announced on Friday that it would lose money for the
third straight year on heavy marketing costs for the USA debut of the Dreamcast. Sega
expects to lose 19.8 billion yen for the 1999 business year. Sony and Nintendo on the
other hand, recently reported positive profit forecasts for 1999. Sega will launch the
Dreamcast in the USA on September 9, accompanied by an expensive advertising campaign.
Sales of the DC in Japan have fallen short of Sega's original forecasts and wide adoptance
has been found wanting. Monthly sales of the Playstation have outpaced Dreamcast sales
handily in the Japanese market. |
| On a related
note, NCS will lower the price of the Asian Dreamcast to US$199 on June 18.
The Japanese Dreamcast will drop to US$249. Dreamcast stock is currently
available at regular prices. |

Yen
Equilibrium / 07:08AM
Had we been less prudent and more apt to taking risk, we would have
profited nicely from the dollar's move in the overnight session. The greenback has dived
to Y121 and is looking to head lower. A break of Y120.7 may portend Y120.3 but we can't
catch this train now. It has left the station. C'est la vie. |

Capital
Markets / 07:12AM
We sold out of AOL yesterday for 10 points and opened short SPH when
1290 was taken out. We're sitting on 1000 shares of CMGI that were put to us and we're 17
points in the red. Our strategy today will be to look for it to hit 200 today and write
covered calls on the 1000 shares to recoup $40,000 since we think this will head lower.
The Dow break at 10,500 was unexpected but it reaffirmed the SPH short. No one likes a
bear market except for the bears but we look for the selling to be short and brutal. We
expect downward tests of Dow 9,800 and SPX 1210. Once those levels are hit, the market
should sit more comfortably and base for a while before the rocket games start again. We
feel the plunge is necessary because it knocks out margin players and overweighted
speculators. Their over-leveraged capital is being destroyed and they will be waxed from
the market. The bubble needed a little pin prick anyway... |
