With Square's Sokaigi out in the marketplace, the next Square game is Brave Fencer Musashiden for this summer. BFM is a 3-D action-adventure, much like Sokaigi, with a spiky haired main character that carries a pair of katanas. Character conversations are a necessary part of the game to gather clues and direction. A large cast of characters live in the Musashiden world for you to interact with and encounter. A close approximation of the style of game would be Konami's N64 Ganbare Goemon with hands-on control of the character, unique camera perspectives and detailed cities and outdoor locales to wander through. |

| Poy Poy created a stir in the marketplace when it first arrived on the scene. NCS never understood the attraction and considered the action to be dull and uninspired. One niggle was that the "projectiles" that one could pick up were difficult to aim, resulting in a lot of hapless running around and throwing at empty air. Everyone else seemed to think that Poy was a gem however. Konami gives it another go this summer with Poy Poy 2. Fans will see more of the same throwing action in wider arenas with multi-tiered landscapes in ice floes, grasslands and wooden platforms. Like the original, 4 players can join in the mayhem. Pre-orders are now welcome for the Japanese release in August. |

| Bandai is bringing a new 3-D action punch 'n kick game to the Playstation this June. Crisis Beat plays similarly to Sega's Dynamite Deka and features 4 characters to choose from. The girl character pictured above uses a broom as her side-arm and swings it with skill to dispatch goons and assorted henchmen. Multiple enemies will appear on screen to attack, with an upper limit of 5 from what we have seen from preliminary screenshots. Special moves and critical blows may also be performed for quick and easy kills. Pre-orders are now welcome for delivery this summer. | |

| New York City had another spate of taxi-cabbie trouble yesterday. Unfortunately, there was no taxi-cab strike to free up the streets but many cabbies did show up in City Hall to complain about hefty insurance hikes and fines that the city is imposing on all cabbies due to their reckless driving habits and the general insanity that is caused daily in the streets of our city. The insurance hike is meant to help compensate for the accidents that are caused in the city by cabs. One cabbie went so far as to threaten the commission that is implementing the new rules. Of course, some cabbies are being punished unjustly by the fines since they drive in a normal manner but there is no denying that in a sea of taxi-cabs, many are wild jetties with little regard for fellow drivers and property. All this in the name of the almighty fare. Thank you. | One thing that we forgot to update was the new Sakura Taisen keychain sets that arrived this week. NCS will post up pictures next Monday though we have sent some samples out to the local market as a feeler. General consensus: "They're okay, but what the hell is Sakura Taisen". Oh well, we'll probably have to peddle them to our specialized Sakura internet market... |
| We had an unfortunate delay with some of our cartons today, namely Sokaigi, but we expect this stock on Monday. Miracle Jumpers should also arrive next week along with restock on original Japanese RGB and S-Video cables. NCS continues to move old stock to our new premises and will probably do so for another 2 weeks as we dig up old cartons and miscellany. NCS bids everyone a fine weekend. |
