As mentioned last week, Konami has
posted the delivery date for Metal Gear Solid in Japan as September 03. The American
release date has been posted for October 04. Although a month's lead time for the Japanese
release does not seem to be very long, it is enough time to give us confidence in
maintaining a large pre-order for this title. We will sell 80% of our stock on the first
day that the game arrives with the remaining 15% moving out over the next week. The
straggling 5% will sell over the ensuing weeks as the decision between import and waiting
for the domestic version among retail customers becomes a nigh unbearable facet of life.
Needless to say, but we'll mention it anyway: Pre-orders for Gear are now open. |

Saturn fans will soon join their
Playstation counterparts in the role of train conductor as Taito brings Densha de Go! over
to their eager hands. Two sets are expected on July 20: A special edition that includes
the slick conductor controller with swivel handle to pop doors open and a regular edition
with just the game. Fans who forego the controller the first time around can pick up a
separate conductor controller, which NCS plans to stock. In the arcades, Densha de Go! 2
was recently released to widespread anticipation from train fanatics. The new version of
Densha de Go! features more brilliant graphics in a wider array of locales and cities.
Since the first game has done very well on the Playstation, we fully expect Taito to bring
the sequel over to the home consoles later this year. |

Pia Welcome to Carrot 2 is expected
later this month for the Sega Saturn. Like it's predecessor, Pia 2 features hentai action
from one of the masters of the craft, Kid. Can Can Bunny fans should undoubtedly recognize
this publisher. Fans of the genre can expect to see girls in various poses and modes of
undress. As usual, pre-orders are limited to adults only. |
| It appears that word has spread
quickly that Brave Fencer Musashiden will include a preview disc containing Final Fantasy
VIII. NCS is trying to get the FFVIII preview disc a bit earlier when it is made available
to distributors in Japan this month. We'll report back with full details and possibly
encode our first downloadable AVI when we have the disc available. |
