Capcom vs SNK 2000 Pro |
Scans |
|
On one
side, the wind whirler Joe Higashi joins the ranks and on the
other, Dan Hibiki closes the circumference on an elite circle.
The cast and crew of the original Millenium Fight remain the same,
but new
blood can only twist the odds and add to this momma of a
fighting game. All fighters are now unlocked and ready to
battle from jump street and ratio effects have been modified
somewhat. Characters also come with re-drawn picture profiles
and in-game fighting appears to move in more fluid fashion.
Maybe it's a trick of the light, but the fighters seem to run,
jump, and smack smoother than what we found in the original.
There was speculation in Hong Kong message boards overnight
that additional fighters other than Dan or Joe would be
unlockable but this appears dubious at this point. If we hear
otherwise or ferret out hidden fighters,
we'll post additional information. In stock today, all
pre-orders and new orders ship this afternoon. |

With
apologies to the purists, we rehash Tuesday's news below... NCS will
make up for it tomorrow... |

C-Bot Solicitation |
Robo-Emoticon
|
|
Sega took care of the animal kingdom with their robotic
interpretations of dog, cat, and bird last year; respectively
Poo-chi, Meow-chi, and Chirpy-chi. Anthropomorphic ambition
and attribution goes live in a couple of weeks when Sega ships
the first of many humanoid robots to the Japanese
market. C-Bot, short-hand for communication robot,
stands 8.46" high and weighs a meager ~1.10 lbs sans AA
batteries. Capable of displaying "emotion", an LCD
screen relays joy, anger, and other simple responses according
to the bot's emotional bio-rhythm. The official street date
for this product sits on June 30 but NCS expects delivery on
June 25-26. Japanese yen retail stands at Y3980 or US$39 from
NCS. Pre-orders via e-mail
are welcome.

Stick Boy Solicitation |
Photo
|
|
Innovation, of sorts, motors on when Asian suppliers
ship the aptly named Stick Boy later this month. A Dual
Shock style knob rests on the left side of the accessory to
give pad-weary players a more tactile feel when gaming. In
addition to the knob, a screen protector and a flip-top lid
helps to protect the GBA unit from the travails of free
floating dust and other airborne motes. Designed as an easy to
fit sheath of plastic, Stick Boy slides in and out of the
Gameboy Advance with the quickness. Expected retail pricing
ranges between US$7 to $8, dependent on final production and
carriage costs. This product will go online once
stocked.

Toys; Assorted Solicitations |
Sonic 2
Plush
|
A wide range of upcoming Japanese toy products are slated for
delivery in the next couple of months. NCS plans to partake in
some of them, starting with Sonic 2 plush dolls which
ship in October from Sega Toys. Five different dolls from the
original Sonic rodent (cool blue), Tails, and dark, new-type
Sonic (black) join the licensing parade. Each plush stands at
30cm (11.81").
Manufacturer Yamato plans two Macross die-cast
metal toys in August. The VF-1A (not shown) mecha transforms
from robot to gerwalk to fighter jet and a VF-11B (shown) mecha
changes from big robot to sleek fighter jet.
A new quartet of Samba de Amigo plush
dolls from Eikoh are due next month. Amigo, the monkey, and
Amiga, the girl simian are represented. Bingo and Bongo, the
teddy bears, round out the new Samba plush product line.
Spiderman appears to be a theme this
winter in Japan with an large assortment of plastic on the
way. F.A.N.S., a Japanese manufacturer plans two limited
edition products as their homage to the web-slinger. First, a
set of Spiderman mascot figures measuring 10cm (3.93")
pose in a variety of stances including standing, hanging
upside down, just hanging, and prowling. Second, a pair of
Spiderman swing clocks with two face themes (shown) are on
offer as well. The diameter of each clock measures 44cm
(17.32").
Love Hina Christmas figures should help us
close out the 2001 year. Part of the Sega Prize line, six Love
Hina girls dressed in red for the holiday season stand
approximately 9cm tall. Shipments are due in
November-December. A couple of other Sega Prize products - Azumanga
Daiou dolls and cushions, Digi Carat wall clocks
and calculators - are under consideration. A new collection of
Sakura 3 keychains featuring five girls are due in
October.
NCS may decide to stock additional products from
currently announced lines in the next couple of weeks and will
update accordingly once we finalize details with Japanese
vendors and distributors. E-mail
pre-orders or inquiries are welcome.
