Metal Gear Solid 2
|
NCS has confirmed a small quantity of the MGS2 Sons of Liberty trailer
DVD that will be released in Japan on July 10. We have received well over 500 customer
requests for this product but we will likely only be able to fulfill a tenth of those
numbers. NCS will conduct a random selection process during the first week of July in
order to keep things fair to everyone. Those who are chosen will be contacted by NCS via
e-mail with further details on the offer. Metal Gear Solid 2 is shaping up to be a mega
title, with unprecedented demand and the final product should do great numbers in Japan
and the USA. NCS has stopped taking pre-orders for the trailer so please don't send any
more requests to our company as they will be filtered out. Expected retail for the trailer
DVD is US$25. |

Macross Plus Reminder
|
Shoeisha's version of the popular Macross franchise looks
awfully similar to Big West's two incarnations of the game. Change from fighter jet to
gerwalk to full-fledged battle robot to help you conquer the skies and dominate the land.
This is but a reminder that NCS will take delivery on June 29 amidst a crowded field of
Dreamcast imports such as Street Fighter III Third Strike and Jet Set Radio. |

Neo Devilman
| Go Nagai's
demonic creation takes on the full figure of a larger than life monster with the latest
collectible model from Japanese toy manufacturer Moby Dick. Touted as a true 1:1 scale
model and measuring a little over 6.80 ft tall with fully fleshed out physique, this
gruesome addition to any room would give it an instant macabre atmosphere. Pricing in
Japan is set at Y2,200,000 or roughly US$20,754 per monstrousity. Hardcore fans of
Devilman would probably enjoy this hulk and NCS is tempted to bring one in just for the
curiosity factor. We'd then probably lease it out to Japanese anime conventions instead of
keeping it in the offices... |

Japanese DVD
|
The advent of the PS2 has opened up the DVD market in Japan to the Asian masses and
NCS' trading partners have begun to offer Japanese versions of American movies to our
company. We have not decided if we will enter this market since Japanese DVD prices are
roughly double their USA counterparts. This week, we received a package containing the
Japanese versions of There's Something About Mary, Drop Zone, Random Hearts, 48 Hours, and
Havana. The average retail price for Japanese DVDs swoops in at Y4000 or roughly US$37. We
also received a box set of ER containing five DVDs covering 15 episodes from the 3rd
season of the show. This one was about US$212. The Sixth Sense is due to be released this
week and we'll have this particular title included with our shipments for next week.
