Dreamcast USA Early
Well, sort of. The New York Times reported today that Sega of America
will make the Dreamcast available in Hollywood Video stores for rental on Thursday of this
week. Sonic Adventure will accompany the console to these shores with expected rrental
prices of US$19.99 for the DC. NCS knows that there are Hollywood Video stores in New York
and if we can grab a unit for rental, we will figure out the type of territory
lock-out scheme this week. Our money is still on jumper toggles but the cramped space
inside the Dreamcast makes for difficult positioning of any toggle device. |

Two more DC imports
Frame Gride and World Neverland Plus have shipped and NCS expects to
take delivery on Wednesday. Frame Gride features 3-D battle action with upgrade options
for your mech and World Neverland places you in the role of an average citizen in the
Waktic Republic who lives his life. No monsters to slay, no quests to head off to, just
walk around, work, eat, go out, sleep. |

Crisis of Confidence
Despite the gangbuster sessions that the market is seeing and the
heavy inflows of money into equities, one can't help but grow somewhat bearish. We're
holding a loaded quiver of OEX calls that expire this week and we'd like to flip short
with all of the proceeds. Then we look at the money that is surging in and it keeps us
from flipping. At this clip, the Dow may strike 12,000 in this stride. We assume that this
is the most likely scenario since the bears have been getting thrashed in the past couple
of weeks and their artillery has been taken away. The crisis manifests itself because
we're at all time highs. No one likes to buy the top but then again, no one wants to miss
the ride on a supertanker. Hedged bets should be the order of the day but the puts and
calls are still at very bullish levels with little regard for the downside. We live in
interesting times. |
