 Wonderswan Color Silver

Scan

A shimmering silver metallic version of Bandai's flagging handheld makes it to market. Similar to previous releases of the WSC, a single Panasonic AA battery accompanies the unit and powers the Swan for roughly 30 hours of portable fun. In the face of the Gameboy Advance juggernaut, the Wonderswan's ambition of dominating the handheld realm slips as evidenced by recent sales figures in Japan. Staunch support from Squaresoft should stanch some of the bloodletting but as seen in the past, nothing survives the Nintendo Gameboy assault.

WSC Digimon Tamers ~ Digimon Medley

Scans

In West Shinjuku, Tokyo, three Digi-battle card game fanatics comprise the Digimon Tamers cast. Bandai's latest Digimon game features three characters from each season with Yagami Taichi from the first season, Motomiya Daisuke from the second, and Takato Matsuda from the latest television season. The game focuses on the third television season of Digimon which features a teacher named Cullumon who helps the tamers in their digivolving. The new antagonist Impmon looks something like the devil, per his moniker. Similar to previous Digimon games, players venture forth and battle adversaries with their Digimon pals. In decisive battles, tamers may aid their Pokemo, er, Digimon by mashing buttons to help invogorate the monsters. Takato's Digimon is named Guilmon which saw genesis from a drawing Takato made and became a living digimon by way of a mysterious blue card he received. Guilmon looks like a big, brown dog/kangaroo creature and he'll grow stronger with each digivolution.

 Cowboy Bebop ~ Spike Spiegel

Scans

This summer's Cowboy Bebop Movie "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" takes place between episode 22 (Cowboy Funk) and episode 23 (Brain Scratch) and introduces four new characters to the Bebop universe: Electra, Lee Samson, Rasheed, and Vincent. The mainstays of Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivrusky 4th ("he's" a she), Ein, Faye Valentine, Jet Black, and Spike comprise the rest of the cast. Few spoilers have seen the light of day but scads of merchandise are winding their way to the Japanese market as the cinematic release nears.
The Cowboy Bebop Tengoku no Tobira mini album from Victor Entertainment (VICL-35297) was released yesterday in Japan at Y1890 and today, NCS stocks the Kaiyodo Spike Spiegel figure at Y2600 or US$30. Measuring 6" tall, Spike stands in his usual relaxed manner, trademark garments wrapped around his trademark slouch. A gun in his outstretched hand points to no one in particular and a pedestal made up of plastic brickwork may be used to prop Mr. Bebop up. A rose lies splattered on the bricks, with faux water to add to the "drama". Tomohide Enoki sculpted this particular figure.
Next up in the Heaven's Door merchandising is the original soundtrack from Victor Entertainment, due on August 22 at Y3200 for the special edition.

 Sister Princess Stickers

Sister Chikage

Sister Rinrin

NCS received a collection of 8 different Sister Princess stickers today. Admittedly, they're all gorgeous but puzzlingly expensive. Our costs were roughly Y800 per unit before shipping and we're retailing them at US$10. Each sticker measures 9 3/4 x 6 3/4" and is made of shiny, reflective material.

Due to a typhoon #8, some of our shipments were delayed. According to scholars, typhoons are common in the Pacific Rim from June to September. The slow-moving storms wield deadly force by way of high winds and heavy rains that pose threat to man and beast, as well as infrastructure.
In other news, C-Bot goes to London with it's master.
