Soul
Calibur
Originally, Soul Calibur was scheduled to arrive today in the USA at
NCS. However, due to distribution complaints made in Asia against some of the trading
partners that we source from, Sega decided to release this game on a fair and equitable
basis so that all distribution companies in the Far East receive it on the same day:
August 02. For example, the fastest trading houses in Asia and Japan usually broke street
date and exported DC games overseas as soon as they received stock. Occasionally, the Sega
distribution house in Japan would allow companies in Japan to pick up their goods and
immediately ship them to Asia and around the world. No more. The new Sega edict states
that everyone gets it at the same time, at the same rate. No advantage for nimble traders
at this time. Who made the complaints? European and Hong Kong companies come to mind who
saw that their stateside competitors were getting games way too early. There are others
who cried foul but this, in a nutshell, is the reason why Soul Calibur will not hit these
shores until August 03. |
