NCS is unsure if the Japanese market is ready for a game of mahjong with the cast of Evangelion. Stranger things have certainly happened, such as the notorious SATURN Playboy Karaoke discs. We usually leave the realm of mahjong to the girls of Suchie Pai and other tried and true licenses such as Super Real MJ and Final Romance. Japanese mahjong rules apply as you match wits against Asuka, Rei and the rest of the beloved anime cast. An Evangelion adventure of the interactive, story-telling sort serves to tie the mahjong action together. Two or four players may play at once with player portraits shown on the screen. Character expressions will change as they win or lose. Our conclusion after watching a couple of games: a gleeful Rei is much more attractive than a fuming Asuka.
