New stock
Due to a number of problems importing certain shipments into the
country, NCS is aggressively scaling back our operations until we can assess the
situation. For example, we were expecting a number of new products today including Card
Captor Sakura, Maya and 5-6 other new imports but we are
experiencing "delays". We have had other problems this week and in weeks past
which have not been helpful or conducive to overall business. As a result, we have to
retrench, negotiate, and wait for the results. If things don't work out, we'll have to
start up that NCS hedge fund that we've been thinking about and gun our trades against the
other players daily. |

Neo Geo Pocket USA
NCS received the first batch of USA NGP games today and we're
disappointed in the packaging changes that were made for the American market. NCS assumes
that the changes were necessary to compete in the Gameboy dominated USA marketplace and to
meet lower price points but we can't help but think that importers will continue to bring
in the import versions of certain games. We would very much prefer a domestic vendor for
our NGP supply but that seems improbable now. The USA packaging consists of GB style
cardboard boxes, not the snappy, protective plastic cartridge containers that are shipped
in Japan. Good for keeping costs down but they pale in comparison to what's available
overseas.
SNK of America also announced that the classic Namco game Pac-Man
would be making it's way to the NGP in roughly 2 weeks. We expect a fine rehash of the
maze classic. What the NGP may be able to pull off is a niche in well done handheld
versions of retro coin-op games. We'd love to see pixel perfect NGP versions of Donkey
Kong 3, Mr. Do, Ghouls 'n Ghosts, and many more. The possibilities are endless of course,
since the retro library is vast and untapped. Legimitely, that is. |
