| Back in the late 80s when Sega first released Galaxy Force after successful coin-op runs with legendary shooters such as Thunder Blade and Afterburner, they built a rotating, hydraulic powered simulator to encase the game. One of our local arcades in New York City was able to procure one of the machines at a cost of roughly $25,000. NCS is unsure if they ever recouped that investment but they charged a dollar per play when the norm was a quarter or fifty cents for the premium games. Galaxy Force featured some brilliant and detailed arcade worlds back in the late 80s. Entire worlds will blaze past your Galaxy Force fighter as explosions billow past your strike runs. Galaxy Force creates a thrilling sensation of speed over planetary surfaces and star systems that is nothing short of exhilirating. This recent Sega Ages release reproduces the arcade experience faithfully, without the mechanical rotation, of course. | |
| NCS Rating: 7 | Strength: Fast, explosive arcade shooter |
| Weakness: Some nice graphic details may be missed due to the speed of the game | |
