DC Spawn US$53

Scans

Comic book characters spawned from the mind of Todd McFarlane such as Vandalizer, Vindicator, Overtkill, Soleil, and The Mafia all assault each other in this death match game. DC visuals are stunning, as usual, and the four player option splits the screen into quarters but manages to maintain crisp animation, aspect ratios, and speed. There's also a Team Battle Tournament mode where rancorous duos cooperate and deal death to the opposing team. Built-in network capability adds to the potential but this feature is only supported in Japan.

Spawn US$53

Spawn started his career as an Image comic book character in June of 1992 but has since appeared in a live action movie, a cartoon series on HBO, and now a video game from Capcom. The dark anti-hero appears to have wide appeal.
Additional DC imports Cool
Three other Dreamcast imports arrived this morning. Giant Gram 2000 continues the tradition of wrestling excellence from the Sega camp while Cool Cool Toon marks SNK's entrance into the rhythm action genre started by Konami's Bemani. Dogu Senki caps the day's new DC wares with it's wargame theme. Use elemental force to battle a rival planet but prepare for natural disasters that can wreck any carefully laid plans. All of today's new DC releases are priced at US$53.

Cool Cool Toon US$53

SNK's Cool Cool Jam for the Neo Geo Pocket is expected on Thursday along with Delta Warp. The two Cool Cool games may be linked up for data transfer via the NGP to DC cable.
Gpara DVD Magazine Vol. 4 GPara Vol. Zero
The fourth volume of Gpara DVD Magazine looks into 69 console games due in August for all of the major consoles and handhelds. The Gpara Special section of the disc checks out Dragon Quest VII with cinemas, a history of the Dragon Quest series and an interview with Yuji Jorii. NCS expects the seventh DQ chapter to arrive on August 26. A new monthly feature, Technique Theater, gives players pointers on playing Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask with some modicum of skill. Please note that Gpara DVD requires a region 2 NTSC DVD player in order to work.

Gpara DVD Magazine Vol. 4 US$25

NCS "discovered" a single issue of Gpara Vol. 0 in Japan that was only given away to Japanese convenience stores to build interest in the new DVD magazine. Vol. 0 ships in a regular CD sized jewel case and covered the month of April 2000.
