| Two classic shooters get another
chance at wooing fans in Xing's Arcade Gears compilation. Released earlier this year on
the Playstation, both shooters have apparently been the stuff of fond memories for arcade
gamers. The Saturn version ports the original arcade code perfectly with sound, graphics,
and controls that are identical to the originals. NCS has probably enjoyed the vertical
shooter Image Fight on dozens of different platforms over the years, including the Amiga
computer and on the Japanese PC release. Whlie they were admirable conversions, nothing
beats the exact original. X-Multiply is a Gradius play-alike but with sweeter graphics and
different weapon power-ups. |
