Manufactured by Takara Toys
Measuring a miniature 3.75" tall, this P.V.C.
figure mouths off in Japanese when it detects sound. Whether it be
your booming bellowing voice, Casey Kasem on the radio, or the
passing of overhead aircraft, sound sets off the Parappa rap,
followed by the beat of drums. |

Parappa
the Rapper Interactive Plush US$39
Manufactured by Takara Toys
Melon-head comes to mind when this 16" tall
Parappa plush walks into the room. The width of this particular
Parappa's skull measures 9" from ear lobe to ear lobe. The
novelty of this model is it's speaking voice when it hears sound.
Various sayings issue forth from Parappa's form....in Japanese, when
you address it. |

Parappa
the Rapper Maracas Plush US$29
Manufactured by Takara Toys
Taking a cue from Samba, Parappa relinquishes his rap
(if only for a moment) and grabs a pair of maracas. Clap your hands
or yell "El gato es en la cocina!" at this cute one and
he'll shake his maracas with the quickness. The instruments chime
when shaken due to little bits inside the maracas. This playa
measures 9 3/4" tall from tip to cap to soles of sneaks. Adorable,
endearing, and easily our favorite from today's crop, Maracas Parappa goes up on the
company mantle today. |

In
December 1996, a phat pup endeared himself to the Japanese gaming
public with a catchy line ("I gotta believe!"), rap
rhythm, and his love for a flower of a gal named Sunny Funny.
Parappa's adventures transpired in Rodneytown where he learned to
rap from grandmasters such as Chop Chop Master Onion, MC
King Kong Mushi, and the indefatigable Cheap Cheap the
Cooking Chicken.
Fast forward to 2K1 and Parappa rolls on with steady
merchandising and three new plush pups join NCS inventory today.
