In
ancient times, the sun exhausted itself and caused the world to
fall into freezing ruin. Disparate human tribes joined with winged
peoples called Fezarions and crafted technology to escape to a new
dimension. Although hospitable to life, the new world lacks
Growsey, the source of all magic for the humans. Spatial proximity
to the old dimension occasionally allows some of that old magic to
permeate the new world and a new breed of humans called Growsians
are borne. Blessed with inherent magical ability, the Growsians
defend the world when a monster attacks but the battle vanquishes
both sides. The remaining humans go back as they were and the
story in Growlanser takes up from there....
