When stodgy players trudging on muscular legs engage in the sport
of soccer, it's all-out war. Brutal and brusque bruisers throw
elbows, bump heads, and attack each other for a moment of glory.
The footy ball sees some of this violence but it's usually
finessed from player to player and from cleated sole to
unforgiving net. In Japan, the generally polite and timid populace
won't battle amongst each other for the honor of their team,
unlike the rioters in Europe, but the excitement is still
palpable.
Konami's latest Live builds on it's origins
with a new movement and control system for highly responsive
game-play. Tug your joypad and watch your onscreen man ape the
direction of control. Emotive players also flash smiles, beam, and
exult when a successful goal slaps in. On the other end, dour
looks and foul expressions bubble up when the opposing team takes
the lead. Snazzy atmospheric and lighting effects, the roar of the
crowd, and realistic player movements all conspire to make this a
visual feast for soccer fanatics on the hunt for the latest and
greatest.
