FAA Allows Flights Today

Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta announced earlier today the resumption of commercial and private flights effective 11:00AM EDT. Other than diverted international passenger flights overnight, no other commercial air traffic has taken wing since Tuesday.

Due to re-opening of air travel just this morning, NCS does not expect any air cargo to arrive today. Delivery of stock tomorrow will be a distinct possibility as UPS, Fedex, and other air couriers grind back to business after two days of inertia. NCS will endeavor to process and ship all orders as soon as possible but air service will ultimately determine our immediate destiny. Airports around the country and in New York are operating today but there may be limited flights taking off and landing due to the security procedures mandated by the FAA. The logistics and difficulty in re-starting the air travel machine from cold boot will also take time.

Normalcy, if you can call it that, may return by the middle of next week with regards to general air shipments and travel. At this time, UPS and other couriers have suspended service guarantees around the country. In other words, a box shipped with UPS 2nd Day may not arrive in 2 days. However, we advise customers to keep their original shipping choice to avoid processing problems due to the tenuous nature of air freight shipping policies at this time. Thanks to everyone for their incredible support and understanding during this difficult time. Some links are offered below to apprise everyone of current service conditions:
