| Complete
PS2 Imports in November |
Analysis |
The
complete schedule of November's PS2 imports is posted below. Print runs are respectable
with Unison packing 700,000 copies and Sunrise Heroes R running 400,000 copies in the
initial production mix. The numbers for Beatmania II DX and Dance Summit 2001 Bust a Move
have not been disclosed by the publishers but they're probably within the 500,000 range.

Aquaqua is a puzzle-action
game. Beatmania II DX 3rd Style will be Konami's Bemani debut on the PS
and meets stiff competition with Dance Summit 2001 Bust a Move from
Enix on the same ship date. BaM is a dance combination game. Forging ahead, Mahjong
Goku Taisei pits 50 characters from chinese mythology against the player in a
game of mahjong. Sunrise Heroes R should be big and the numbers match
anything from the Super Robot Wars camp. The new Sunrise Heroes game features 180 anime
characters and mechs from the Sunrise television animation series. I am the
Manager is a baseball coaching sim and Unison is termed an
entertainment action game. |

18 Wheeler |
| The new
volume of DCM with the GD-Rom demo containing 18 Wheeler, deSpiria, and Out Trigger will
arrive on Monday and all pre-orders will ship at that time. New pre-orders are welcome via
on-line store to ship next week. |
The arcade coin-op version of 18 Wheeler is
pretty impressive and DC fans will get a 1:1 conversion next month. |

1 November Schedule |
Sailormoon |
| November's
complete schedule for PS will be posted in Monday's update. The biggest game for the month
is Tales of Eternia with a print run of 1,000,000 copies. Next in line
would be Smash Court 3 and Super Hero Operations: Didal's Greed at
180,000 copies each. Pat Labor brings up the fore at 120,000 units. There
are a few Best Series games in November being printed at a miniscule 1,000 copies and
we're wondering when Sony will do a Best Series re-release of Ranma 1/2 or
Sailormoon. We'd buy 1,000 units each in a heartbeat. |
The number of Sailormoon fans are legion and the
SM PS game is still one of the most requested and sought after titles.
Nevermind that the gameplay is weak, it's the panache of the license that attracts. |

LE Cover |
Poster |
| The cover
to the Japanese version of Dead or Alive 2 features Kasumi and Ayane, back to back,
against a blue night sky with big moon background. Kasumi holds a sword in her right hand
while Ayane's right hand points towards the sky. DOA2 LE will ship on Sept. 27 and NCS
will offer the special edition during the first week of availability. All restock will be
the regular edition only. |
The poster for DC Kanon, which arrived
yesterday, mirrors the cover of the game and the poster for DOA2 should also be the same
as the game cover. |

Week's Preview |
RGB Restock |
| DC Sakura
Taisen 2 Regular and Limited Edition are due on September 20 along with DeSpiria.
The limited edition of Sakura 2 includes a pink Puru Puru pack and special packaging. PS Dino
Crisis 2 and Ohasta Dance Dance Revolution are due on September
18. Finally, PS2 Keyboardmania, Ring of Red and Silpheed: The Lost
Planet should arrive on September 21. Gpara DVD Magazine Vol. 5,
6, and 9 are also scheduled along with the PS2 imports. We'll explain the jump from Vol. 6
to Vol. 9 when we receive the issues since we're not sure of the numbering skip at this
time. |
NCS will offer a set of custom-built Japanese
RGB cables next week. The Playstation and Saturn RGB cables are dual standard SCART and
JAPAN. The Dreamcast cable is Japanese RGB only and no modification to the DC pcboard is
necessary to use it with an XRGB-2. |
