Tuesday's Update
The latest buzz from Japan on the Dreamcast. These are unconfirmed but the following tidbits are the latest from staffers in some of the more popular Japanese video game publications that NCS conducts business with.
-
Sega may miss the November 20 window and delay ths debut of the Dreamcast until early December. The main problem appears to be whether or not to bundle / integrate the modem with the Dreamcast console.
Despite what has been rumored and reported elsewhere, Sega has not put a solid price on the Dreamcast. There are ranges being touted by trading houses that range anywhere from Y25,000 to Y30,000. None are commited to any prices at this point in the game however.
There may be shortages in the first shipment of Dreamcast consoles. Demand is high in Japan and distribution companies are being told, rather bluntly, by Sega that any export of the Dreamcast will be frowned upon.
The following SATURN imports are expected tomorrow
Capcom Generation Vol. 02 Capcom US$49
Nadesico 2: Blank of 3 Years Sega US$58
Shining Force 3 Scenario 3 Sega US$39
Sorvice Altron US$49
Steam Hearts TGL US$58
Three new SATURN imports are expected next Wednesday
Densha de Go! Taito US$49
King of Fighters Best Collection SNK US$49
Pia Welcome to Carrot 2 Kid US$49

Pre-orders are welcome by mailing ncs@escape.com

Four new Playstation imports are expected on Friday. Koei's 3-D fighting game Destrega and Enix's Itadaki Street Gorgeous King lead the pre-order listings.
Monday's Update
NCS will likely post our final Dreamcast retail price later in the week. Most of the details of the packaging, shipping cartons and configurations have been relayed to our company. Five games are scheduled and confirmed to ship simultaneously with the console on November 20. They are:
-
Pen Pen Tricelon Wacky animal racing game
Sega Rally 2 Stock car racing
Seventh Cross 3-D action-adventure

The base model of the Dreamcast will not include the DC modem but the peripheral will be sold separately on November 20 at roughly US$49. Finally, the black and the white DC VMS units will ship along with Sega's DC joypads on November 20. NCS has gathered over 700 pre-orders for the Dreamcast console and our company guarantees all reservations that we receive until the the end of October.
