Friday Update (10/02/98)
No Dreamcast price confirmation overnight, just some more details on the modem. Obviously, the modem will be of little worth to buyers in the USA until the domestic release of the Dreamcast. Hopefully we'll get an update over the weekend and have the price on Monday.
Beatmania controllers are in short supply due to under-production from Konami. NCS expects the second shipment in Japan sometime in late October. If you are interested in reserving a Beatmania controller, feel free to pre-order with us at ncs@escape.com.
Two new Japanese Gameboy imports were released recently and special orders are now being accepted for delivery within 2 weeks. Dragon Quest Monsters (US$49) and Pocket Monsters Yellow Pikachu version (US$30) are RPGs from Enix and Nintendo respectively.
Starting next Monday, UPS will no longer accept cash for COD Cash shipments. A money order or cashier's check will have to be secured for payment to the UPS driver.
Some confusion on the Beatmania special goods that we listed yesterday. All of the special products are separate items and we're not sure where the confusion came in but commas separated the products. NCS has received word of a new version of the upscan convertor from Micomsoft. Suitably named the X-RGB2, the new model is apparently a marginal updatre of the original X-RGB1. NCS is unsure if there are any improvements to picture quality (hard to believe) but we will post full details when we take delivery next week.

Now would be as good a time as any to start asking our Dreamcast pre-order customers to specify the version of the Dreamcast console that they would prefer. A Japanese version (100V, NTSC) and an Asian version (110V, NTSC) will ship simultaneously to the marketplace. The Asian version will include an English user manual and is 100% compatible with Japanese software. European customers should note that a 220V version of the Dreamcast is also expected at debut. Final prices remain tentative although Sega should post their official retail price by the end of this week.
Capcom has re-shipped Super Adventure Rockman for the Saturn. This game was recalled by Capcom a month ago due to a disc defect. NCS is currently accepting special orders for this game, to ship next Monday.
