Originally
released in 1997, Time Crisis 2 foisted two secret agents going by
the names of Keith Martin and Robert Baxter onto a shooting
rampage under the guise of rescuing fellow agent Christy Ryan. The
coin-op cabinet featured two televisions, side by side, so two
players could drop quarters simultaneously and take up the gun.
Foregoing the lazy way of bringing coin-op games home, Namco
polishes the PS2 conversion of TC2 with updated graphics, new game
objectives, and throws in a number of bonus game modes including a
quick draw contest, agent trainer, and skeet shooting. The
2-player split-screen mode runs at full speed and maintains aspect
ratios by "wide-screening" the two windows. Highly
enjoyable, Time Crisis 2 supplies a jolt of mindless trigger
wrecking action as you blast caps at screen goons and assorted
henchmen. Also included in the Japanese packaging sits the new
Guncon v2.0. Colored matte black as opposed to bright orange for
the American Guncon v2.0, the new weapon features a comfortable
grip, a tactile trigger, and good weight to balance in your hands.
NCS is now pre-sold out of the Japanese Time Crisis 2 package but
we expect to restock the game within 1 week's time. |
