XRGB-2 Upscan Convertor

Initial impressions: General cosmetic changes on the front panel. Color is now dark grey as opposed to black sheen on the XRGB-1. Push-botton toggle between 31khz and 15khz as opposed to tiny, unmanageable dip switch settings in the original XRGB-1. On-screen menu activated by front push-button now available for tuning screen settings for easier calibration of modes. DVD support is touted in user manual but redundant since anything that outputs a video signal, whether it be a composite, S-Video (Y/C), or RGB will plug into this puppy. Picture quality does not seem to be improved over the first XRGB-1 (how could it be) but this new model offers easier operation and convenience. Efficient design in this new model that essentially replaces the XRGB-1 model in our inventory and stock offering.

Note that users should only use RGB input cables for the best picture quality. Use of composite or S-Video input cables will result in a picture that is less than perfect. A composite signal input into the XRGB-2 will result in some ugly output. Don't bother purchasing the XRGB-2 if planning to only use it with a composite video device. S-Video is not noticeably sharper with the use of the XRGB-2 over a standard television with S-Video support. Trust NCS, RGB is king of cables.
