Throughout
human history, comets have been looked upon as harbingers of doom. Nothing good came from
these daggers in the heavens and they were viewed as portents of death and disease.
Aquaqua takes this tack with a tale of a comet that collides with an asteroid, unleashing
monsters and little creatures called Aquas. The wee ones only want to live peacefully but
the monsters desire world domination and use unrelenting water to attain their aim.
Each puzzle battle takes place on a floating chunk of earth. Help the Aquas
survive the liquid onslaught by trapping the rain, using building blocks to corral the
bodies of water. Once trapped, send fire to vaporize puddles and remove the threat to the
Aquas. To make things interesting, earthquakes are triggered randomly which rearrange the
landscape and rupture your enclosures. Addictive puzzle game that takes Wetrix to the next
level. In stock US$58. |

The Bust a
Move lineage is of some renown among rhythm specialists with a yen for onscreen dancing.
Follow the onscreen cues to perfection and your dancer flows like Deer Park Spring Water.
Dynamic visuals and animations made previous incarnations of Bust a Move delightful to
watch. Enix evolves the series with a new controller and control scheme that makes use of
slap happy hand patter.
The DS 2001 controller includes a tiny purple joypad styled in the
traditional Playstation scheme and a pair of "grip pads" which fit over your
hands. Each pad connects to the purple joypad and allow for pressure sensitive motion
while playing the game. The front and back of the left grip features the X and O buttons
while the corresponding right grip mark the triangle and box buttons. The control scheme
takes a bit of practice to get used to but once you're in, you'll flow. Like water. The
game and controller are priced at US$68 each. |

In
Chinese legend, Goku the Monkey King emerged from the loins of a rock, seeded by divine
grace. This distinct birth gave Goku many abilities, which included a changeling skill to

cunning and was able to best opponents much larger than he was. He's the one man army.

old classic. Players can dive right in and play a straight game of MJ against up to three
opponents. For those who prefer a little drama, a quest mode puts you in the persona of

you during your quest and challenge you to games. Prove your mettle and protect your

| Aruze
announced Pachi-slot Aruze Kingdom Pocket Oh-Hanabi for the NGP to ship
on December 14. Similar to previous Pachi-slot offerings, the gamer enters a world where
slot machines are the sole vocation and vice. The word hanabi translates
into fireworks but we're not certain how bombastic a slot machine game
could be. Pricing is set at Y3800 (US$39) and pre-orders are welcome. |
The Aruze company recorded 91% of it's revenue from slot machines and
pachinko tables in fiscal 2000. It will be interesting to see how the SNK acquisitiion
impacts this revenue stream, if at all. |
