Dreamcast 4Q Revision
A number of late arrivals have been added to the Dreamcast November and December schedule
that NCS originally posted last week. Most notable are Rainbow Cotton and Toy Rangers. The
majority of the new additions have been confirmed for December 23. |

Dreamcast ASCII
Joypad
ASCII will introduce a new DC controller on November 25 that will include the
vibration function, a six buttons across design, and a VMS slot. The controller looks like
it will be much easier to use with games such as Marvel vs Capcom, Street Fighter 3 and
any other fighting game that may require repetitive button mashing. Here's a rough scan of the joypad. Retail is
Y2980 or US$38. Pre-orders are welcome. |

Dreamcast Swap Trick

A number of readers have submitted a variant method to play imports on domestic
Dreamcast consoles. This method does not involve the de-soldering of the BT1 battery leg. |
| Step 1 |
Remove the upper
shell to the Dreamcast and locate the drive door sensor on the upper right hand portion of
the GD-Rom assembly. |
| Step 2 |
Loop a size 16
rubber band from the sensor to the little nub on the underside of the DC GD-Rom assembly.
Looping the rubber band once should provide the proper amount of tension. Note that you
may also simply tape the door sensor down. |
| Step 3 |
Replace the lid
to the DC. |
| Step 4 |
Insert the
Dreamcast web browser disc into the DC and insert a controller into port 2.. |
| Step 5 |
Hold down the X+B
buttons on the second controller and power up. |
| Step 6 |
The browser
software will load, wait for the ISP screen and release the X+B buttons. This procedure
will clear the system memory settings. |
| Step 7 |
Power the DC off. |
| Step 8 |
Insert a native
territory game or demo into the DC. |
| Step 9 |
Power up and wait
through the 3 minute spin cycle. |
| Step 10 |
Once the spinning
stops, insert the import disc and highlight "Select" and press the A button.
Done. |
