| PS2 Offer Update |
Local |
| Recent
offers from distributors around the USA list the PS2 (in limited supplies, of course) at
roughly US$800 for a PS2 packaged with 10 PS2 software titles. The available offers are
somewhat fair, especially since the PS2 console cost sits at US$300 if you price each game
at US$49. The load of 10 games would be the only balking factor... NCS is currently not
offering this set and only provides this information as a measuring stick of what to
expect from non-chain shops that do decide to sell the PS2 in it's current package. As the
holidays take effect, demand will probably spike, at any cost. |
Stores in lower Manhattan charge a modest premium for the package listed to
the left. The average retail price for the PS2 package, with the ten games, is US$1000. It
appears a hard sell but partners report to us that they sell out to hungry buyers. |
| Neo Geo KOF 2000 Finalization |
Geo |
After a couple of detours and misfirings from SNK, NCS
is able to set the final retail price for Neo Geo King of Fighters 2000 which
ships on December 21.
US$332.
NCS no longer enjoys the distribution discounts that enabled us to offer most
previous Neo Geo cartridges at US$268. Perhaps it is due to the re-organization of SNK
that has changed vendor pricing to higher platforms.
Today's price is final and will not hike to a higher level under any
circumstance. An e-mail update will be sent out to all customers who are on our
reservation list for this game today, towards the late afternoon. If you do not receive
the mailing and have reserved the game, please contact us to assure that
you are on the pre-order schedule. The mail server at Escape is acting up but messages
appear to be getting transferred normally as of this afternoon. Please note that new
pre-orders are now closed and have been closed for a couple of weeks. |
There have been rumors of an English edition of KOF 2000. This edition
would have included an English manual and box. The cartridge was to be identical to the
Japanese version since the base console decides the language.
The localization was something that was under consideration, to be handled by
EEI in the United States. However, it appears that this version will not
take place and SNK has denied production. |

Treasure have developed an enviable reputation as a developer. Any new game

the gems that this company can polish. Bangaioh was the last effort and it still sells
well. |
