| Famicom Tsushin, or Famitsu, is the elder
statesman of video game publishing in Japan. It has been around for longer than any other
gaming periodical and yet it chugs on, maintaining momentum with it's stable readership.
Famitsu's foundation in the industry is that it gets the "important" advertising
dollars. Coverage is afforded to all console platforms, including the handhelds that have
recently hit the market such as the Color Gameboy and Neo Geo Pocket. A new handheld will
join them soon in the form of Bandai''s Wonder Swan. |

Bandai's
Wonder Swan handheld is expected in the spring of 1999. All of the major publishers such
as Capcom, Konami and Namco will support the WS, which makes it a viable contender in a
market where the Gameboy has held a dominant position for the past decade. |

on the Wonderswan. The WS' screen is a black & white lcd with a resolution that
appears to be on par with what we've seen on the Gameboy and the Neo-Geo Pocket. NCS will
stock the Wonder Swan as soon as it hits the Japanese market. |
