Wild Choppers
Chopper in Flight    Wild Choppers was originally scheduled for a spring '97 release. Now, near the end of the year, we finally see the game in stock and find that it's a good quality 3-D shooter. You are part of an elite strike force that hunts out terrorists and wipes them off the earth. As part of an elite group, you have your choice of eight different helicopters that you throttle into mini-wars and campaigns. The missions in Wild Choppers are varied but seek and destroy air strikes are the most common. Occasionally you'll be called to save a few stranded U.N. advisors that have strayed into enemy territory; it'll be your task to bring them back home safely.

Bombing runs are always fun where you maneuver into range and skillfully raze an enemy installation into the ground. The control of your helicopter in Wild Choppers is very well designed. The D-pad moves your chopper while the thumbstick lets you turn, rise, and fall. This scheme will allow to you to dive and strafe a line of tank armor on the ground and then quickly veer off to the right and rise when they retaliate. The physics and the controls of the game take a bit of practice but before long, you'll be zooming and gunning through the skies with the greatest of ease. Wild Choppers is nothing monumental but it's fine graphics and fast gameplay make for a thrilling arcade experience on the N64.  Choppers goes close
