| The long-awaited English language release of Shenmue 2 won't make it into official American distribution but the European localization is just as good. Four GD-Roms and two user manuals (hey, Europe's a big continent with lots of languages) are dispensed in the two double-jewel cases, both wrapped up in a blue sleeve. The game speaks Japanese but subtitles are in English, a marked improvement over the iffy English voice "acting" in the first Shenmue [USA]. As mentioned on page 50 of the first manual, mini games in Shenmue 2 include near perfect emulations of Outrun, Afterburner 2, Hang On, and Space Harrier. Conventional parlor games include Arm Wrestling and Darts 7. We're surmising that some retro-fans will spend hours in the arcade, and neglect the overall encompassing adventure. "Shenmue Collection" may be discovered on Disc #4 and mini-games may be enjoyed therein. All in all, a must-get game for the staunch Dreamcast fan. |
