Motown
rocks in the latest Bemani insurrection with "You Can't Hurry Love" and
"Cutie Pie" whilst the Oldies represent with "Johnny B. Goode" and
"Still of the Night". Thick slices of Americana that'll span generations. Deep
Purple also make a stand with "Highway Star" and "Smoke on the Water".
Coin-op musicians have jammed using linked arcade Guitar Freaks and Drummania
machines. Konami melds the two on the PS2 into one musical bonanza. The jam function here
is the Session Mode with the drum and guitar controllers plugged in and ready to beat out
digital staccato. Of course, solo play is also possible with either Guitar Freaks or
Drummania taking up your rhythm attack.
Konami continues their winning streak with an uncanny knack for choosing
catchy tunes. The versatile ensemble spans all musical genres, tastes and comes out
roses. |

The final
Satun release? Perhaps. All of the Yukyu Gensokyoku games on the Saturn, through the
years, are collected in this one volume. Yukyu Gensokyoku, the original game and Yukyu
Official Collection, Yukyu 2nd Album, Yukyu Ensemble, and Yukyu Ensemble 2 are all
included. Five CD-Roms are packed and bound in a thick, hardcover gatefold that fans open
into three segments. Two discs nestle on each fold, with the final Official Collection CD
packed on one fold with the game guide. A mini poster and an NTT telephone calling card
provide neat little bonuses. The thick user manual covers all of the gameplay elements and
back story in each Yukyu game. For fans of the Yukyu series, this is the compendium to end
all.
In the original offer, Media Works listed the production quantity at
5000 units. The unit that we will keep for our company is numbered a hundred odd over
this. Perhaps more pre-orders were submitted and the company had to produce more. Yen
pricing is Y15000. |

This time of year always puts a strain on suppliers but they always seem to
come through with good offers and restock capability. All this, despite the rush of
business. |
