GBA New Japanese Imports

  • Black Gameboy Advance  US$95 by Nintendo
In the beginning, there was Milky Blue, Indigo, and White. It was good. Milky Pink arrived soon after, followed by a torrent of hued GBA units dedicated to Pokemon, Japanese baseball teams and others. Along with yesterday's spice, black's the other new color addition to the Nintendo handheld rainbow coalition.

  • Columns Crown  US$43 by Sega
Sega's entry in the puzzler arena follows in the tradition of classics such as Tetris but with a stylized bent. Sparkling baubles fall from the sky and masters of the game must shuffle and stack in order to create color combinations. Mix and match horizontally, vertically, or diagonally to fade jewels from the screen. New wrinkles in this reincarnation include fairy tale characters and something of a quest mode to add to the dramatics.

PS2 Sidewinder F + Flight Force

US$125

Thundering metal birds provide the ride in Asmik's continuing Sidewinder series, now powered by Playstation 2. Take control of an F-14 Tomcat, F-22 Raptor, F-15 Eagle, F-16 Fighting Falcon, YF-23, and the C-130 Hercules, among others. Flight combat's the game and the skies dazzle with atmospheric effects, cloud cover, hazy horizons and other illusions to complete the feel of flying.
Bundled in this hefty box is one of Logitech's [Logicool] Flight Force USB controllers which debuted when Namco's Ace Combat 4 captured the imagination of virtual flyboys earlier this year. The Flight Force features jarring feedback, a thumb-friendly 8-way hat switch, throttle control and programmable trigger buttons, all conveniently ringed around the tip of the stick and accessible to your clinging fingers.

  • Apparently, NCS will be able to offer both Japanese and English versions of King of Fighters 2001 for the Neo Geo AES (home console version). We have been asked to submit our pre-order quantities for both the Japanese edition and what appears to be an Asian English edition. Although we haven't finalized details for this offer yet, many Neo devotees have submitted their reservations already. Due to the news, please feel free to contact NCS with your version preference or pre-order online

02:02 PM Append: Due to many questions, the Asian version of KOF 2001 is official and includes an English language insert and English language manual. More details soon.
