Truth be
told, anyone swinging a pair of maracas without seeming provocation or inclination may be
faulted with the loss of mental faculties. It looks odd, especially when the shaking is
fevered or exaggerated to abnormal proportions. Maracas are a specialized percussion
instrument which isn't as common as say, a guitar leaning against the wall or a piano,
stately and serene in it's grandeur. No, maracas are usually reserved for the occasional
celebration and to supply the rattle dazzle to any festive musical piece.
Sega breathes new life into the Samba license and dusts off the maracas for
another round. Samba 2000 remains true to the original with a bounty of new songs in
addition to all of the tunes from the first volume. A new gameplay element requires
maracas swing positioning, where you pose like an airplane runway master, and ape the
character moves onscreen. If you're a contortionist, this mode will play out like second
nature. A love mode is a fun way for couples to determine amorous compatibility where the
ear to ear grinning monkey is joined by a blue eyed simian senorita who shakes a mean
tambourine. Samba is fun, silly, and incredibly wacky looking in action but it's festive,
unbounded spirit is unmatched by anything else on the market now. For that, it should be
applauded. |

| Ten of the
meanest, baddest bad-asses ever to roam the ring clash in this first and perhaps only Neo
Geo Pocket wrestling game. One challenger bears the face, fists, and headband of someone
name Ryu (guess who) and another bruiser looks like Sabretooth of X-Men fame. The game
features a bevy of standard moves for each wrestler including the standard aerial spins,
piledrivers, slams, and out of the ring shenanigans. Each wrestler also wields special
moves that are unique to his own style. Bang these out with rudimentary pad and button
combinations. One lady wrestler competes among the men but she, no dainty flower, pounds
flesh with the best of them. |

The
Infinity interaction game series swings along after a successful game that debuted on the
original Playstation earlier this year. Seven anime characters interact and intervene in
each other's lives over a period of seven days. The game is played similar to other anime
style games from Kid with simple interaction sequences, flick screens to relay the tale
and ample conversation to divine the feelings and thoughts of the characters around you.
The Dreamcast version of Infinity, called Never Seven: The End of Infinity is
expected next week and is linkable with the Neo Geo Pocket version for data exchange and
interchange. |

delays for upcoming Dreamcast software were announced overnight. Hundred Swords,
originally slated for January 23 has been delayed until February 15. Rhapsody of
Zephyr, the first console game from a Korean publisher, moves from January 23 to
February 22 and Princess Maker Collection joins Rhapsody's new date in

new Neo Geo cartridge. The early arrangements that we are effectively taking today will
help ensure that every pre-order is shipped on the same day that the game is delivered to

Laying dormant ever since the release of Metal Slug 3 earlier this spring,
King of Fighters 2000 marks only the second Neo Geo cartridge release this year. Perchance
another 1 or 2 cartridges in 2001. |
